Bloody hell, you can tell it's the school holidays. He looks about 14 Hope it's a successful appointment.

What an absolutely nothing article from Baldy.
-
I don't agree, there's absolutely loads of them who'd improve us. We're looking to improve on Callum Wilson as second choice, who in his final dozen appearances looked like he was running with a pair of doc martins on.
-
We'll only know for sure at the end of the transfer window, but it's what we did in the last one. Taking Trafford as an example, there's barely even been any other keepers vaguely linked with us since the Georgian lad went to Liverpool over a year ago.
-
come on, now. Both of those points are valid and you know it. It's a tough market and the rigged bullshit system makes it a lot harder for us, but deciding to sit on our hands if we can't get a really small specific player list is absolutely fucking stupid as well.
-
Convinced this one doesn't happen. No coincidence that as soon as we were strongly linked, Man U jacked up their Mbuemo bid. We've been used as a stalking horse yet again.
-
If he's mobile and strong and athletic, he's immediately a big upgrade on Wilson. I'm all for it.
-
It's alright, let's just wait another 5 years for another young bright English keeper to emerge and then get totally fixated on signing him and only him whilst a 40 year old Nick Pope keeps nets.
-
Agree. Both are important. I love that we're trying first and foremost to improve the ceiling, but it seems to be that or just sit and do nowt.

There are absolutely loads of players out there who would improve us right now that we aren't signing. Either our scouts aren't finding them or our manager won't consider them. I don't get the fixation with only wanting to sign from this tiny pool of about a dozen players over a period of years. Yes, by all means target them first and try get the best we can in, but when it doesn't happen why aren't we immediately making a move for the next best alternative. Someone said it perfectly the other day - we're looking for upgrades on Longstaff, Wilson, Schar/Burn and Pope not Rodri, Haaland, Gvardiol and Ederson. There's fucking loads of players who would improve us - even when you put the managers key "filters" on the market e.g. can press, not a dickhead, strong, quick etc. Eddie's comments about the market being tough and we can't control it etc are spot on, but that's the same for everyone outside the "cartel" and many of the other clubs seem to move, react and secure deals a hell of a lot faster than we do. We are slow movers in everything and it's really starting to harm us. I'll judge it properly when the window closes of course but TL;DR version so far is we've made a difficult situation even harder by being stubborn, indecisive and slow.

Sorry, not a fan of the barnet. Get yourself a Johnny Unitas please Ant'ny lad.
-
That's the bit that I find most infuriating. Nothing wrong with having consistent top targets and working across multiple windows to secure them, but it feels like the list is still incredibly limited and when we're inevitably gazumped or strung along and used as a stalking horse for Chelsea or whoever else's benefit we don't seem to have an alternative ready to quickly react and move onto.
-
Can't help but think those comments are the first of a very gentle "don't be surprised if we get fuck all else in" warning from Eddie.
-
Might as well keep our powder dry til next summer and have a really good go at failing to secure the same six or seven players then.

Willock, hurry up and get injured like normal. Looked woefully short so far. -
I'm glad we're not just blindly overpaying, but frustrated at how slowly it takes us to move on from targets, the fact it seems like we flit from deal to deal one at a time, and the tiny pool of players we seem fixated with and rarely seem able to acquire. GK is probably the least important one to get now Sean has left, totally cool with another year of Pope, but we need those other three or it's a total and utter shit show of a window.
-
I have it on very good authority that Sean prefers Meat Stack to Friez & Burgz as well.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Aye, for all the noise about us apparently playing some sort of blinder in order to deter interest in Isak, it's still another week that's melted away without any more incomings. Considering the context of our last few transfer windows, any fewer than 4 senior arrivals (including Elanga) would be incredibly disappointing. It should really be 5 if Sean is indeed away. We all know the circumstances and the market conditions are tough but we can't use that as an excuse, we need these additions. -
NUFC.com: Aside from the main senior team group, Harrison Ashby, Mark Gillespie, Travis Hernes, Alex Murphy, John Ruddy, Leo Shahar, Max Thompson and Joe White all travelled. Sean Neave, Ben Parkinson and Trevan Sanusi were all involved against Carlisle United last Saturday but we're yet to spot them in footage or photos from Austria.

Wissa's a really good player. Those turning their noses up mustn't have been paying attention.

Here we go! He only ever wanted Spurs move.
