Stockdale came across like a good guy on the Why's It Never Us Celebrating? Sunlin documentary. No idea if he's any good as an actual coach mind. Whatever we do, hopefully we can get on with it and have someone confirmed for the bulk of pre-season who actually sticks the job for a year or two.
  2. Several of the other posters reacted negatively to your comments, leading to their morale dropping badly.
  3. You don't know that for definite, though. Neither do I, but we can be reasonably sure the club/Eddie wouldn't just spunk the whole budget on Ekitike if it meant glaring holes in the squad elsewhere. Willock and Longstaff seem like an alternative piece of the puzzle in that we'll need to sell one to bring a different midfielder in, otherwise you've then got 7 senior midfielders, 8 if you include Joe White. Less to do with spending but more to do with squad places. I wonder if we've hit a roadblock with Trafford and conceded another year of Pope is worth getting a big statement like Ekitike in. As far as I'm concerned if you're being quoted £40-£50m for Wissa or Watkins you may as well drop £80m on Ekitike.
  4. Not sure if some of us are still conditioned to old "purples" idea but the next step of our evolution is going to involve having actual good players on the bench or rotated in and out. Joelinton will still start 25-30 games if he's healthy next season even if we bring in these reinforcements. Given he's the example we're talking about, he's not so useful at home to the lower placed sides where a more creative player would definitely help us in those scenarios. Having different options will be class.
  5. It would become A-HA after Eddie's favourite band. Makes sense now.
  6. Puke is bound to get one right eventually, broken clock etc etc. Hopefully it's this un.
  7. Little teaser posted on Insta, think we're about to get the confirmation...
  8. He'll be storming down the wing at Villa Park before we get this announced
  9. Kudus a good buy, and MGW a fantastic buy for Spurs at the prices they're getting... but their issue for me is the shit show at the back. It'll improve them but they've more to do before they threaten top four again IMO. Assume they'll need to move some on as I don't see how you can include even half of their attacking midfielders in the side with those two added.
  10. To tune of Don't Look Back In Anger He's Isak's best mate The lads just can't wait Til he's flying down the wing The goals, he'll score all day Anthony Elanga, he's fucking great
  11. Can't wait to see the video of him getting asked ridiculous daft questions by the work experience lad, expect we'll get it Monday morning.
  12. Paperback in the mud after his "bid accepted" exclusive

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I'd imagine there'll be a fair few takers for McAtee at that kind of fee, if that's indeed accurate.

As if Damsgaard is 24 looks about fotty. He must have had hair like Steve McDonald before he was out of his teens.

Would be really excited about Wissa, think he's a really good all-round PL striker, brings a bit of all the key attributes you'd want.
  16. Right time for him to go, he's been a really important player over the last few years but faded from view second half of last season. The run to Champions League qualification first time around he was absolutely sensational. Another one who bounced back from shitty times under Bruce to experience the highs of the top four finish, PSG, the cup win etc. and who will be fondly remembered. Good fee and as others have said if he plays regularly he'll do well there.
  17. Paperback Ryder trying to muscle in as a real sports journalist, bless.
  18. Raising the roof by bagging early against Spurs. I know it was followed with a (final) Bruce shaped thud back down to earth, but the euphoria from that goal was like nothing else.
  19. Yessss! Jump the chasm!
  20. 15 goals in 40 games for that honking Brucey side is really notable, he definitely kept us afloat that last year before the takeover.
  21. Seems a good guy to have around, glad he's staying.
  22. Been a great player for us but definitely the right time for him to move on. Will be remembered fondly for sure. Hope he can go and score a boatload abroad or in the Championship.
  23. Wouldn't be surprised if Wilson was invited back for training til he can get himself fixed up tbh (and Ruddy) - it'll cause bedlam if he's in the pictures though
