8 wins gives us 90 points.
has anyone ever not gone up with 90 points?
Just Sunderland in '98. There's even been some years where the champions don't reach 90.
A 2pts per game average will get us promoted (92 from 46) so we only need 6 points from Villa/Bristol City/Brighton/Huddersfield/Reading to maintain that.
Decent night, although Huddersfield are a huge concern. As long as we win these next 2, think we'll do it. Then just 2 or 3 points from that nasty away trio.
I think most football supporters, not just Newcastle fans, would be glad to see them get their comeuppance for the way they tried to cover up the Johnson case and that a lot of their fans have continued to support him since.
And how they've stunk up the Premier League for years, genuinely offering nothing.
An unspectacular but above-average week, but would've been better if I captained Sanchez over Zlatan. Already brought in Jakupovic and Costa for Cech and Zlatan next week.
Class from Defoe and the club
For all the paedo-loving, flying of banners and being racist to your star striker's mam, they sometimes show they're not all bad.
Never been that concerned with Reading or Leeds, it's all about Huddersfield imo. I think we'll do well to get a point there.
The sheer strength of our top individuals has got us where we are, on paper we should be straight back up.
Need 28 points from 17 games, which looks doable (8 wins, 4 draws, 5 defeats).
Bit nervous about this run of games though - can only see 3 or 4 points from Wolves, Norwich & Villa and that's before those 3 awful away games.
Right now, 2 points separate Sunderland in 20th from Boro in 15th. With Leicester right in there
Hull, Swansea and Sunderland all picking up form at the same time. Mental.
