This. 2 weeks in a row now my captain hasn't even completed the 90 minutes let alone get any proper points (Lukaku last GW, Yaya Toure this). Had Firmino as captain all week only to change it about 20 minutes before the cut-off

Absolutely agree with this. Top, top football managers should be able to walk into a team like Liverpool and lift them up - especially this season fgs, Leicester (LEICESTER) are top of the league It might not be "Klopp's team" but they have a much better squad than Leicester and are absolutely underperforming. His team selections and tactics have been very questionable so far. It would take an absolutely terrible manager to crash and burn with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, as that league has very poor competition in it. The one thing Leicester have over Liverpool is balance. Liverpool's squad is bent out of shape and it has made it much more difficult for Klopp to identify his preferred 11. Leicester have the inferior squad on paper, but their first 11 has been virtually unchanged, and almost every one of their players (bar maybe Mahrez and Schmeichel) is performing a level or two above their station.

Well why doesn't he do it more often then? No you're right. He clearly can't finish. Every single one of his career goals to date has been a total fluke. He's getting into the positions which is the most important thing - He just needs to get used to the pace of the league, which will come. His composure yesterday was 1st class. Yup. I think he will be a class centre forward. It's not his finishing technique that's the problem but it's usually his anticipation/decision making/body shape. He needs as many 90 minutes as possible and it will come with time. Some of his passing into dangerous areas also showed he's quite an intelligent footballer so those saying he could only ever be a 8-10 a season striker might be right, but if he can weigh in with an additional 8-10 assists from knockdowns and passes, then that'll do me tbh.

Wish this daft twat was more consistent. If he'd been in this form more consistently or at least not so far from it we'd not be in so much trouble. Totally bossed the game and dovetailed very nicely with Shelvey.

I'm staying out of this, mate. you know what i mean! Been a bit rubbish at Apoel. Very underwhelming. He's only now started to pick up results (appointed in August). Their squad is miles ahead of the competition and the fans aren't too happy they're playing catch-up. Been on a very good run of late but it took them quite some time to bribe the off....I mean start playing well.

Thankfully you're not in charge of finding players for a living.

Tbh if football wasn't this non-linear roller coaster affair I'd have packed it in a long time ago. It's the only thing that keeps us and many other clubs' fans hanging on. That's what has made it the pure gold mine that it is these days.
-
The biggest thing for me is that he seemed to be disgusted at playing LB. He didn't seem arsed in the slightest and looked like he couldn't wait for the match to be over. I get that he's an attacking player, but at that age you want to be getting in the team when you have the chance by making sporadic appearances here and there, and making it hard for the manager to drop you. Did absolutely nothing to make the manager or fans take notice of him.
-
Idiotic red aside, I thought he looked much much better for us at the back when he came on. Seems to be growing in confidence. He's a massive unit, and I hope he can continue to improve.
-
His powerful left foot is a welcome addition to the team. Swung in a couple of okay-ish free-kicks, despite his no impact performance. A good option to have.

Thankfully for us Lukaku got injured and Kone is a total donkey or this could have been 7 or 8. -
Pretty sure the injuries to Dummett and Mbemba put paid to Doumbia's debut. Without even having seen Doumbia play for us, it feels like he and Mitrovic as a front pair (at least for parts of games) is our only hope of scoring enough goals to stay up.
-
Yup. And some on here getting their knickers in a twist about how "shit" he is is futile as there's simply no one else in the squad that has this much impact on the way we play.
-
That long pass to Mitrovic was gorgeous but apart from that his contribution was minimal. He's our best midfielder by a long long distance, and I feel that he understands the game. He's the kind of player you build a team around, but not with that mentality. He needs to channel his frustration in the right way. I'm all for him completely dictating our team's play, and for everything to go through him, but he must remain focused at all times as that's what top players do.
-
Not the first time he's had 90 minutes and been totally anonymous. When he's having games like that he needs subbing. Half time if we have to. Or plain dropped for away games. It's been like this literally all season. How SMC hasn't picked up on this and hooked him is a crime. Pretty much play with 10 men away from home. He doesn't do anything. This x a million. Only a professional outfit would dare to drop their best overall player and scorer in favor of getting actual results when needed. His radar was totally off last night. He didn't seem to anticipate passes to and from teammates, made the wrong runs, head down...he was a total mess.
-
The lad can play as well. He can get a hold of the ball and run with it and is a good passer. He was just totally disinterested last night and woefully unfocused.
-
Made zero contribution last night except for a foul on Barry right at the end. Literally nowt else.

#wait? Wait till when April or May maybe when he finds his shooting boots and we are 2nd bottom with a little R next to our name in the table Or maybe #wait till October when he could hit the net against Burton Albion This f***er is no good man he's paid to score goals and he's failing miserably he's a f***ing carthorse This guy is right lads. Think we should play Gouffran and Townsend up front in a 442.

Usually a couple of weeks after the league cup final when there's no CL?
