This thinking is why we are where we are at NUFC and football in general. The players are employees and the nature of football transfer is mercenary. What goes on on the pitch in 5 days time takes precedent over the future of the clubs/sport for the next 5 years or 5 decades. How it affected Paul Dummett in a weekend in April 2021 pales in significance.

Same issue is at clubs like us just with a different lens/MO...gravy training at the expense of everything.

I find it fascinating like - the nature of following your club and where the line is for...gulp...boycott acceptable. It's played in macrocosm this time and all this talk of jacking tickets in etc has been on talk radio across the land.

Sorry I don't doubt it's about Ashley out. My ears and excitment are being pricked far more re: stuff like the pledge and the (no doubt temporary) heat of debate surrounding reform at the minute. Its the time to strike whilst the iron's hot for fans. This government seem prepared to court them right now at least - closet socialist Olly Dowden and the Pm chief among them. I don't know how I feel about a Saudi takeover, I guess I'd hold my nose but it's a continuation of the direction of travel in light of all this and I'd at least not do myself the disservice. A successful franchise model under a culture of a sovereign state could mean exactly the same issues these others clubs face. Newcastle's fanbase is massive. At the risk of sounding arrogant - we aren't amongst the Burnley's and Brighton's of this world...just yet. Despite howver Bruce and Ashley's want to paint. Don't get me wrong - Ashley is just at a different part of the spectrum of the same problem.

or equally our situation and the bottom feeders after a quick buck. Sportswashing, Super League, PFM's, Jobs for the boys/know your place. It's fucking rotten and I hate it actually.

Depends whether you believe fans should have leverage/power. Should be in a position where people are concerned about pissing fans off and it having meaningful influence.

When asked to comment on anti rascist stance online he makes it about him. Such. A. Cunt. Nice bloke my arse. Doesn’t let people finish their fucking sentences.

Well, putting the Mackems aside then, the audience and target is Newcastle fans for them to pledge. If it’s enough which it may well not be. There was a bloke in there from Kenya. As much as it evoked some local imagery it also addressed football in the modern sense too. Ultimately it’s about persuading enough of us to pledge to make it credible, however their content is pitched.

It’s been tried at least twice. There’s no appetite for it nor consensus. You want a white knight with ambition? Not happening. You want a mass boycott that neither. It’s the perfect being the enemy of the good and part of this at least is looking at the possibility we do a Sunderland. Fucked if I’ll be bystander like those clowns.

The word embarrassing is the most overused and redundant word used in the context of fan behaviour. Whose behalf people embarrassed upon? Sure as shit ain’t mine. I couldn’t give a fuck what Sunderland fans think and looking through the prism of that is so small time it’s untrue. I’m all for how will this work and debate and healthy scepticism but we’ve a Damocles sword of relegation, a sovereign state accused of murder and sportswashing or a disaster capitalist who literally v’s up the fans as our current options. Halle-fucking-jullah someone is promoting a way that doesn’t pander to the EPL, the myriad cretins who protect the jobs for boys product. I don’t know if it will work but fed up of pretending we’re a football club in any meaningful sense or that I should embrace PIF and they are my options. More needs to happen like this in wider society too to be honest because at the minute life and debate around it stinks. Mackems ffs.

Who gives a fuck what mackems think like? They watched their club all but die

Thing is. Being part of a constituted trust you can know that when you ask members that their responses are tangible and evidenced and any activities have credibility. I’m involved and have collaborated with multiple fan groups and most people/groups are great and devoid of ego. One bad faith actor or headcase, or lack of constituted strategy can derail the whole thing and despite attempts for unity. Lack of structure or hierarchy prevents this - hence why the trust is useful as it has a permanence. I’m a member and I have frustrations with it’s priorities but it does t just represent my priorities but those of far bigger numbers than any fragile group I’ve been involved in.

Football needs this tried at the top level. Otherwise it will only ever get worse.

No institutional racism here ?
