Lose the Europa League final, lose Bruno Fernandes, get relegated. It's possible. Any team with Fernandes is far too good to go down, but without him I could see this team go down as we wouldn't score a goal.
-
Not only am I serious, but I'm convinced anyone who doesn't think this just doesn't watch football. The only midfielder who can claim to be better than Fernandes since he arrived in England is De Bruyne. Don't make me get the stats out. As far away from a bell end as it gets mate. Trust me, we have plenty of those. Bruno has a heart of gold.

Could certainly see why we bought him last season. He looked very dangerous, but he's not kicked on at all. Still time, but it's running out.
-
Maybe so. I wouldn't complain if he was to come in as he's miles better than Hojlund. I think Delap carries the same risk as Hojlund, but at a significantly lower cost. I do think Delap is the first choice should we not get Champions League football, but think we'll try for better if we win the cup. Going to be a huge summer either way. Has the potential to transform us.

Agreed, but Osimhen will be far too expensive IMO. I think he's asking for obscene wages, and we won't do that anymore.

Five finals in five seasons. One match away from a European trophy and CL football. "Done."
-
Oh aye, I've watched you a fair bit and he's a beast. I find him likeable as well.
-
Football is mad like. It felt like it was two years ago people were calling Burn the weak link in your side, and he was getting torn apart by Antony. Now he's scoring headers in cup finals and is in conversation for team of the season.
-
I've felt the same as this, but aside from the goals and assists, the PL website has him as #1 for big chances created as well.
-
Rashford hopefully.
-
Sorry mate, but there is absolutely zero chance we take points off Chelsea. The final is five days after the game. Personally think you've already got CL qualification wrapped up though.
-
Don't forget the 25% wage deduction for the players for no CL qualification, which is currently around £40m.
-
I'd love him at us.
-
A lot. People need to stop looking at us like we're the Man United of the 90's and 00's. Winning any trophy is huge, especially with how poor the season is without it.
-
Munoz is a great shout.
-
Fernandes is the best midfielder in the league. Has to be in the team IMO. I actually wanted to get Mac Allister in. Think he's been class. Tielemans is a good shout. Very underrated by many.

GK: Sels RB: Aina CB: Van Dijk CB: Saliba LB: Kerkez CM: Rice CM: Bruno Fernandes CM: Tonali RW: Salah LW: Cunha ST: Isak Two from Forest, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle. None from City. Whoops.

What do you think is happening with the tickets? There's still a ballot for staff, but the rest are going to fans, which is the way it should be. You can't win with the media.

A trophy is a trophy. If we won the Europa League I wouldn't swap our season with Arsenal for example.
-
Zubimendi to Arsenal, here we go.

I get that, but there's a lot of big/rich teams in the Premier League now. There's always going to be a couple of English teams in the Europa League every season that are Champions League level clubs, at least in terms of revenue. Say Chelsea are the ones to miss out of CL via the league this year, people will say the same thing about them next year as they are about us and Spurs now. There's also the insinuation that it's an easy competition to win, which just isn't true IMO.
-
Our team seems to struggle with the physicality of the Premier League. Dorgu, Garnacho, Hojlund etc. get pushed off the ball easier in England but not so much when playing a European side. I just wanted to avoid a Premier League side completely, especially one that has already beaten us three times this season.
-
I will correct you on this one. We look back on our Europa League win with Mourinho very fondly, and the loss against Villarreal still hurts. The prestige and financial gain from playing in the CL is just so huge that it becomes the #1 priority, but it's not like we don't care about the trophy. It was the same when we won the league cup. People think we approach these competitions like we're still the dominant side under Fergie and it's not the case. All silverware these days is hard to come by and we want to win things, especially given the season has been so poor. I don't think we'll beat Spurs, but I really fucking want to. I really wish it was Bodo/Glimt instead and I'd be looking to the final with huge confidence.

Tgarve is right though. Nobody cared when it was Frankfurt or Sevilla getting a spot in the Champions League via the Europa. It's only an issue now because of who the finalists are. I do find it funny that some people think the 5th place finishers in the league have a right to be in the Champions League, yet the Europa League champions somehow aren't worthy.
