That's partly what I'm getting at.

Here's a genuine question, mainly aimed at the Howe out folk... Do you think he would thrive in a structure like Man City where the executives handle the major strategic decisions and recruitment is highly data driven to bring in players to fit his tactical style and system? A lot of the criticism around Howe seems to stem from the perception that he has too much control over transfers and key decisions, so I'm genuinely curious how people would think he would do in that sort of setup.

Aye, but since then Maddison and Bentancur are now back in the squad, with Bentancur even starting. Would imagine against Villa it will be something like: Kinsky Porro Van de Ven Danso Spence Bentancur Bissouma Kolo Muani Gallagher Tel Richarlison Players like Dragusin, Gray, Palhinha, Maddison, Bergvall all on the bench and available. It's still a £500m squad.

It's a point I've been trying to make but keep getting hit with numbers. They've had loads of injuries of course, but they're scattered all over the pitch where they have very capable deputies in every position. They've very rarely had to play anyone out of position if ever. Maybe a full back on the side of the pitch they're least comfortable on. It's not the same as an injury crisis where you're missing 5/6 players in one position Have a look at some of their worst results of the season: Beat 3-0 by Forest in December. The team was Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence, Gray, Bentancur, Kudus, Simons, Kolo Muani, Richarlison. Davies, Palhinha, Bergvall, Tell and Johnson came off the bench. Beat 1-2 by West Ham in January. Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies, Gray, Gallagher, Odobert, Simons, Tel and Kolo Muani. Spence, Bissouma, Solanke and Bergvall off the bench. Beat 1-3 by Palace in March. Vicario, Palhinha, Danso, Van de Ven, Porro, Gray, Sarr, Souza, Kolo Muani, Tel, Solanke. Bissouma, Gallagher, Richarlison, Simons all on the bench. They've always had a good team available. Romero misses time but Danso or Dragusin are available. Udogie misses time but Davies was available. Davies missed time but Spence has been available. Bentancur misses time but Palhinha has been available. Kulusevski misses time but has been available. Solanke misses time but Richarlison has been available. I referenced us in 23/24 saying we had an injury crisis. An example was when we played Palace (lost 4-0). Our injury list was Fernandes, Lindelof, Maguire, Malacia, Martinez, McTominay, Rashford, Shaw, Varane and Kambawala. We had to play Casemiro and Evans in centre back with Dalot as a left back because all our centre backs and left backs were out injured, even the youth ones. Our bench that day was Heaton, Bayindir, Amrabat, Amad, Collyer, Jackson, Ogunneye, Wheatley. Do any of you even know who half of them are? IMO, that's a crisis. tl:dr Spurs have a lot of injuries, but it's no crisis. They can do one. Leffe can support us when they're down.

The players are the reason they're in this mess, but I'd still take Bergvall.

Had a look at their last defeat (Sunderland) to see what the squad was like. Starting 11: Kinsky - €16.5m Porro - €40m Romero - €54m Van de Ven - €40m Udogie - €18m Gallagher - €40m Gray - €41m Kolo Muani - loan Bergvall - €20m Richarlison - €58m Solanke - €64m Bench: Danso - €25m Palhinha - loan (€5m fee) Simons - €65m Tel - €35m Sarr - €17m Dragusin - €28m Bissouma - €29m Spence - €15m Austin - academy Well over half a billion. Wew.

That gear must have been terrible.

Exactly. We all agree that Gabriel should have been sent off for trying to nut Haaland. The only reason he wasn't is because Haaland didn't go down. Unfortunately a part of football now.
-
It's a clear penalty. People's hatred of Arsenal is clouding their judgement and understanding of very basic football rules. It's a shocking decision.
-
Clear pen. Awful decision.

Leeds 2-1 Burnley Brentford 1-1 West Ham Newcastle 1-1 Brighton Wolves 0-0 Sunderland Arsenal 2-0 Fulham Bournemouth 2-1 Palace Man United 2-2 Liverpool Villa 1-1 Spurs Chelsea 2-1 Forest Everton 0-1 Man City

Europe confirmed.

Collins is a bit of an idiot falling for that twice. Top level shithousery from Case. Love him.
-
Bit dry. Need a drink.
-
Not sure where to go Leffe if you don't think us having to play Casemiro and Evans at centre back is barely a crisis. Evans was signed to be a coach ffs.
-
They weren't at the time Kenny. That was half time poo time.
-
Nothing easy about it. The league is just far more competitive. You telling me Leeds or Forest who are near the bottom of the table are an easy game? Anyone can beat anyone now due to the money in the league and it's reflected in the points totals.

He's the most biased commentator ever, for whoever we're playing. We can't stand him on comms as he goes out of his way to sound impartial. Never handball in a million years mind. Good game. Should be 3-3.
-
I do enjoy the numbers. but you keep mentioning Bailly and he hasn't played for us for nearly five years. We're referencing the 23/24 season and Bailly left on a permanent transfer at the start of it. I do enjoy the comparison, but we finished 8th (34 points above the relegation zone) and won the FA Cup. That's my point really.
-
You only had to look to us not even two years ago. We had to play Casemiro as a centre back for half a season as every defender was out injured. I called it an unprecedented injury crisis at the time and probably felt the way you do right now. Spurs have had a lot of injuries but have almost always had competent replacements though and that's where I think it differs. I've just looked at the horrendous 0-3 against Forest and the team was: Vicario Spence Danso Romero Van de Ven Porro Gray Sarr Tel Richarlison Solanke That's a strong and expensive team on paper IMO. Should never be relegation threatened in a million years.
-
IMO they still have more than enough about them to not be 18th like.
-
Our 6th Monday night game of the season tonight. Ridiculous. There wasn't even any Premier League games on yesterday. Could have easily given us a 2pm slot.

It will be good to have you.

No, this isn't true. The players all played for Amorim. Mbeumo and Amad were far better under him and have been crap under Carrick. He rejuvenated Casemiro, Shaw and Maguire and brought through the likes of Heaven. He got rid of a lot of the negativity around the squad as well. Antony, Garnacho, Rashford etc. The slights against him were that he didn't play Mainoo and had Bruno too deep and they were valid criticisms. We had far more intensity under Amorim that what we do now, and I think the form is tailing off because Carrick is running reduced and less demanding training sessions and we're getting notably more sluggish. We were only a couple of points off 4th when Amorim was sacked. I still think Amorim would have got this right if he was given the time but you can't argue with the decision. Amorim is definitely a better manager than Carrick though. We've got away with murder under Carrick and there was a clear downwards trajectory in the quality of performances literally from day one of his tenure. We beat Arsenal 3-2 under Carrick, yet we played much better against them earlier in the season under Amorim and lost. I would say if you compared the two tenures we had more control in games under Amorim, but we didn't have a Sesko hot streak (injured) or Cunha banging in goals from outside the box with 0.1xG chances. I know some people hate stats, but if you actually compare some vital ones in Carricks first 12 games against Amorim's last 12 then it paints a bit of a picture. Under Amorim, we had a higher xG, lower xG against, more goals per game, more big chances created per game, more touches in opposition box per game and higher possession per game. The Grimsby game did untold damage to Amorim, and then it was clear the relationship with the board was going sour towards the end so he probably had to go. tl:dr, those suggesting to use us as an example why sacking Howe and getting someone else in would be successful, need to look at a bigger picture. Results don't always tell the full story. Having watched us play over the last few months I think hiring Carrick would be a long term disaster and we simply cannot do it, but at this stage I think it's what is most likely.

I missed half a game week as well. Expecting it to come back and bite me but as long as I finish above Branko I'm happy.
