Since Brentford are likely not going down it would be canny if he tears the league up again like.

Imagine telling a Brentford fan a few year ago that in 2022 they would be signing Christian Eriksen

Liverpool had a stone waller turned down when Lascelles threw Oxlade-Chamberlain over

Worst case was the shirt pull, if he got up and pressured the chance was potentially still on but he sat on the floor twisting. -
Does he support us? I know Douglas doesn't but cannot remember if Edwards does or not. If not then I imagine unconscious bias is a factor like. And I do reckon he at least only has one eye on games like (again if he doesn't support us it makes sense), although his assessment of yesterday is pretty bang on imo. He did an article on Joelinton which was just wishy washy shite, no real talk of why he was great against Man Utd just general superlatives. Like he'd heard he was great and just sort of filled in the blanks - it didn't read like someone who had paid attention to his game. I know tactical analysis isn't really his thing but if you're writing an article on a players' performance it should probably get a look in . Then talking about Trippier's dominance in the air (being like a centre back) after the Cambridge game which seems lifted straight from WhoScored. I know he hasn't been studying Trippier's games for Atletico. He can click any individual players thread on here and get a general gist of what to write if he needs to. EDIT: He supports Leyton Orient

I agree with what he's saying but I think he's just as in the dark as the rest of us. If you look at his replies to people in that tweet they don't read like someone who has an ear on the inside. I'm just hoping our lack of activity has been down to the strict parameters we've had on players signing (which can be relaxed) and not incompetence. Howe and Nickson don't fill me with much hope but hopefully I'm wrong about them.

As unimpressive as the transfer window has been we've at least taken 4 points from the 6 available, which I'm sure everyone would have taken a couple of weeks ago. We're in no real hurry now so can hopefully sort shit out without the pressure of bringing players in before key games.

What we need is a marching band. -
Some people just have no soul like do they?

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

I'll be honest I never noticed him too much other than 2 times when he held the ball up well and looked like an actual target man, but those stats are obviously very encouraging. Hopefully when he gets his first goal his oddly delayed reactions in the box clear up like, it must be a mental thing as several times in the last 2 games he's took like a full second to start moving towards the ball, by which time the centre back is already there -
I think it's the opposite with Dummett tbh, he's been a solid defender for us for nearly a decade while getting constant abuse . Rafinha turned him inside out a few times yesterday and it wasn't good to see, he played well against Watford but his pace and agility might be gone now (or he might just not be fit). Under Howe I don't think there's really room for him anyway unless he ever starts using a back 3 with any frequency. Even more so if Manquillo performs like he did yesterday. EDIT: Constant abuse probably isn't fair like, but there's always been a tendency for people to ignore how solid he has been defensively.

Someone mentioned Mousa Dembele which I think is pretty much perfect like. I think he'll eventually simplify his game a bit too for the better.

If Howe gets offended over us singing Rafa's name then he isn't the man I thought he was. -
Maybe something like "there was contact but not enough to go down" which is obviously wrong, but proves enough to them that he saw it and therefore won't overturn it? Either way the process is a joke like, I'm just trying to properly understand how these things work.
-
Assuming it's accurate this was a good thread for getting to grips with the process. I can understand Kavanagh not thinking it was a penalty but I'm not sure what he could have told the VAR team? If he thinks there was no contact and ASM slips then it surely gets overturned as it's obvious he hasn't seen it? There's no way the VAR team wouldn't have seen that as a penalty so the issue has to have been in the interpretation of Kavanagh's view of it.
-
It was just so obvious. Atleast with the Ederson one there was the explanation that everyone had just had a brain lapse and completely forgotten the rules. Thinking fouls didn't count in the box if the ball was lost. This time there was absolutely no explanation for why anyone wouldn't think it was a penalty though. It was stone wall and there isn't anything that could have been said to VAR that explains how they could have thought Kav never made a clear and obvious error.

Mid table would sort of be the expected result given how much of an overhall our squad needs. Challenging for Europe would be nice but there's a lot of quality in the top half of the table. Villa looking likely to join the mix as well.

That's probably a before and after photo from the end of January.

Aye. Like Ayoze Perez was probably a more effective footballer for us but I don't get hard watching his compilation videos. Hatem's goal against Bolton will live on forever.
-
In all seriousness if Hatem was brought through the Barca academy and wasn't a mental cunt he very likely would have been an insane footballer imo. Like consistently ridiculous as opposed to running hot and cold in teams where he's clearly on another level ability wise to anyone else.

Javier Manquillo (now playing for Celta de Vigo)

He might as well have been Javier Zanetti last night like. Credit to Howe for putting him in on the left ahead of Lewis too. He deffinitely seems to have the squad pretty much sussed now. -
Don't think HTT's said anything wrong there like

Do yous honestly believe that the turnaround was because Sean Longstaff came on? Think about it man. Ebb an flows happen in football, it's quite a leap to think Joelinton going off suddenly stopped Leeds pressing us to death. -

Joelinton is a far better central midfielder than Longstaff though. It's not even close. -
That's mental like, looks nippy as fuck
