  1. Completely bossed the midfield, didn’t put a foot wrong. Playing like the world class midfielder he is and has been for weeks

    Joelinton

    Bullied McTominay, bullied them all
  3. I’ve said it before but his touch, how he receives the ball off both feet and how he finds a yard of space is second only to Bruno. He’s a special talent who has also shown great vision too. Hard to predict exactly what lies ahead but he’s already easily good enough to start for us
  4. Musiala was at Chelsea too? Fucking hell, hope they get relegated in the next five years. They’re basically a textbook for how not to run a club but they’ve managed to paper over that with absurd spending and a loans system that’s quite frankly built entirely to help the richest clubs monopolise talent
  5. Thought it was a very good atmosphere for most of the match. Couple of quieter spells, towards the very end of the first half and for a brief period in the second half. Overall though, we helped to intimidate Man U who were the shittest version of themselves I’ve ever seen against us

    Fabian Schär

Ref must have been charmed by him to not give him a yellow. Wish he’d slammed a piledriver at Onana. I wanted him to take the free kick which Trippier hit off the bar but that was a quality strike from Tripps
  7. Our midfield tore them to shreds, first to every ball, superior patterns of play, intricate passing. We played in behind them again and again. It’s a wonder they’re not in the bottom half as they’re utter shit
  8. Definitely a couple of results today that could put people out of jobs, let’s add to that later on
  9. Ten Hag after the match “I take responsibility for the result, we have to come up with solutions because we were second best today” Newcastle 2-0
  10. He’ll be playing his typically tight, counter attacking play so it’ll suit against us being tired. However, I think we’ll do them over out of our team being far more united (no pun), us controlling the midfield and us just wanting it more
  11. Much prefer coach over flight. Coach only becomes a drag when it’s over 4-5 hours and if you’re on a Megabus with your legs getting crushed. On a luxury coach I’d be happy travelling all day
  12. Man U in the mud literally and figuratively, enjoy the ride lads. Wonder who gets to sit next to Ten Hag. Back of the bus will be Varane and Rashy
  13. Sell him as a one off deal - Murph and Turf You get one Murphy and a square foot of hallowed St. James’ turf for £30m
  14. not really one for conspiracies but what on earth is going on here?

    Football pet hates

Well, it’s normally the calling card of a manager whose team is playing shite and who is tactically limited. It’s the type of quote Pardew and Bruce will have used a bunch of times

    Football pet hates

Means keeping it tight, reducing positive risk taking, short simple passing, defensive shape is paramount etc
  17. That line about the ref having to be able to see all four corner flags from the centre circle, surely there’s no way
  18. Generally don’t want anything changed about the game. I’m pleased with the UCL offside rule, with ball-line technology. Aside from that, I’d be happy to leave technology and rule changes as they are
  19. Atmosphere last season against Man U was electric. Just need to produce exactly the same. We bullied De Gea for his slow play. This time we’ll bully Onana for being absolutely shit
  20. Man U could sign Mbappe and he’d play the worst football of his life there. Anyone choosing to go there is going off a contract offer and their history alone
  21. The way he left Schar on our left and cut the ball in was the classiest bit of play all night. We did a great job of forcing him to play it to a teammate. Overall, our defensive shape was incredible and the fact he almost never got away from us obviously speaks to our having a low block in the second half but more so our ability to starve him of space and options. Trippier’s tackle on him where he killed the ball dead was huge
