  1. My wife’s half Japanese and we have two daughters so Japan are always my second team in international tournaments, helps that they’re always likeable. Doesn’t help that they often play nice football but mess up near the goal but they were great in that second half. The second goal was immense, that first touch absolutely made it
  2. Looks like they all want out now that there are some deep pockets in the league
  3. Best thing that could happen for Man U sadly. Hope he carries on whingeing elsewhere and is an absolute failure
  4. The midfields of both sides are the major difference here. The USA have pace and are moving the ball really quickly. Wales are so slow
  5. The quality of passing and ball retention from both sides but especially Wales has been so poor
  6. For people who like betting, get some bets on red cards in this match as soon as possible
  7. Thinking of out-and-out strikers from the past, is Owen squaring there? Or Defoe? Absolutely no chance
  8. I get your point Slim, Kane is exceptionally good at providing for teammates and his vision in the final third is as good as any other striker in the world but I still think there’s a really high chance he goes for goal there. In my mind I think of his assists as coming from further out from goal than 6 yards normally
  9. I think it will have endeared him well with Southgate. He’ll have loved his selflessness and I imagine it could lead to more minutes for Wilson. Was a really classy assist when 90% of out-and-out strikers would have gone for goal even though it wasn’t the optimal thing to do
  10. If the refereeing standard isn’t up to using VAR then it needs binning. There’s absolutely no point having decisions take longer and still be wrong. It’s genuinely something that is damaging football. The refs clearly can’t implement it properly so hoy it in the fucking sea
  11. Hasn’t Mount had a really average start to the season too? And he’s never really shown much in an England shirt. Lastly, does he play in that advanced midfielder role through the middle for Chelsea? I always see him drifting out to the left. Hopefully he’s not utter shit, glad to see Saka and Bellingham starting
  12. That would be depressing for Rafa like, his stock should still be high given his achievements. Wish he hadn’t taken that Everton job
  13. Genuinely a big fan of how intentionally awful this lad is
  14. Is it even a debate anymore? Isn’t there a consensus of opinion that Messi is the best ever and it’s not even in much doubt for most people? You can argue about trophies, achievements and mentality but if you’re talking about pure footballing ability, technique and understanding then Messi is surely first by a significant margin. Not that these conversations ever mean anything and always go in circles
  15. What kind of police state shit are we going to see if England fans kick off like? To be honest, I don’t mind if some absolute dickheads have to do a bit of time behind bars but there’s going to be some horrible stories coming out over the next month. Fucking pathetic FIFA slugs
  16. I much prefer el fenomeno, his talent was higher than Cristiano but injuries destroyed him. You can’t really argue with Cristiano’s career putting up there as one of the absolute greats even though I can’t stand him
  17. Can they sack him and avoid paying off the rest of his contract due to gross misconduct? Would love for Man U to lose out financially but that would mean Ronaldo gains so unsure what the best outcome is for a neutral who is enjoying the drama
  18. Coventry are one of those clubs I have a soft spot as I grew up with them being in the top league and then they fell apart. The whole Ricoh arena thing fucked them but if Ashley comes along then they might as well just dissolve as a club before the inevitable soul crushing tenure
  19. Toney will know the best odds going
