They need to get this inspiring double quote up on the walls of SJP -
£50m would have been a bargain

If you’re getting beaten for pace by McGinn when you’ve got a headstart you might want to give up the game to be honest
-
Hamstring injury looks like, shame for the lad
-
I think I’d go Everton over Villa for the novelty but theyre pretty neck and neck for me
-
I’ve got a lot of respect for them. They’ve lost their manager, their technical director, a ton of back room staff and some key players and they don’t seem to have complained much but just gotten on with it and played good football. They’re a fantastic example of how a football club should be run, hope they keep upsetting the big boys and are fighting for too 8 at the end of the season

Got his first PSG goal today. Will be interesting to see how he progresses and also where Newcastle and PSG are at respectively in five and ten years
-
Absolute insanity, I kind of like the fact he’s a bit unhinged. It’s all linked to him not being able to cope with when he plays anything below his best. However, he will get a red one day, probably not that far off, in a game where he gets frustrated at himself

I want to see more of him dropping that shoulder on the left side, he absolutely left the Chelsea lad for dead
-
Havertz is a snide cunt like
-
Can we all just put to the bed the conversation from the last year about whether he’s good enough to be part of this team long-term? Because he’s absolutely class and shows it almost every game. Other team’s players must absolutely despise him as he makes them look like shit
-
Especially on lofted balls, just traps it every time
-
Odegaard must be up there with de Bruyne and Haaland as the best / most important players in the league
-
Arsenal look incredibly well coached and organised, on top of having some great quality in their side. Really didn’t expect this from them and Arteta has impressed me far more than I ever imagined he would
-
Aye, him and Bruno. Bruno edges it on what his overall footballing ability and game brings to the pitch, Trippier edges it on what his character brings to the pitch alongside his ability. I’d say they’re tied
-
When was the last time a top side played that defensively against us? I know Arsenal last season were awful at SJP but they didn’t play a game plan of being as defensive as Chelsea. They were basically playing in their first third for large stretches of the game due to our press and their inability to pass through us. Then, when they did manage to get through us, they committed almost no one because they were terrified of us. We absolutely bullied them
-
You can see he’s exceptionally confident at the moment. That goal last week has made a big difference to him. I’ve been backing him all along as I love his game but he was clearly not playing near his top level earlier in the season even though he was showing lots of quality. Today though, every time he was on the ball in their half he was looking to attack them, either with a run at pace, beating that man by dropping a shoulder, playing a killer pass (like the lofted one that should have led to a goal) or his goal. He was our best player today and our player who looked most likely to get us that goal, either by an assist or as it happened, a goal. I’m really excited about what to this lad is capable of for the rest of the season with his confidence up
-
There was one point where Broja was doing him for pace even though Botman had a bit headstart but Botman was still clever enough in how he positioned his body to shield it and get rid. He makes up for his pace with his unbelievable reading of the game, doesn’t make any sense for a 22-year old to be this good
-
Great thread idea. I think our defenders are the key shithousers, along with Pope. Bruno loves a bit mid-game but after 70 minutes the defence really comes to the shithouse party
-
This is a good point actually, I was trying to figure out why so little came down our left-hand side and it just got snuffed out by this lad. I remember Longstaff also making a great challenge on that side too. It was just a fucking wall on that side

Played 13 conceded 8 clean sheets 5 won 7 drawn 6 Was it?
