Last year's was worse in terms of farcical mistakes. the Tiote thing was appalling, and cabaye not far off. This year has just been weird, hasn't felt like a pre-season for most of it. Have no idea how it's going to affect us until the first few weeks of the season though

We should be putting the team out that is actually going to play. Aye, but failing that, it would have been good to have a few exciting youth players busting a gut to show they should be involved or add something different. Just a shame on that front. To be honest, I don't think there's a set formula to pre-season. Beating teams easily each time or losing badly each time is meaningless really as long as some physical fitness and match fitness are built up. We'll only be able to judge match fitness come next week

Sounds like we're just trying to give people a run out here, would like it if Campbell got thirty minutes. In spite of it being a pre-season game, Pardew's not going to pleased with a first half of almost no chances created and the other team looking like scoring with every chance

for the Prophet Which is coming from our own website which, although not overly biased, is unlikely to be bigging up another team unless they're playing better than us. I don't think pre-season matches count for a lot when it comes to the start of the real season but it's not particularly good news, certainly not for our defence

We must be absolutely awful to be 3-0 down already. Pardew will be raging at some of the fringe-first-team players who aren't pulling their weight. Completely unacceptable performance with our league start in one week's time

Hope this doesn't taint us too much. If we send over lots of talented youngsters we'll be despised in the SPL. Not that it's particularly important in a business sense but Ive enjoyed the fact we've been a likable club again these past two years

I like the way Blackburn are breaking the mould and showing how you can do things differently but still achieve success

Think Marveaux's going to be very important to us this season. If he can stay fit, he's essentially one of three major creative players along with Cabaye and Ben Arfa. Teams may set up more defensively against us this season and it'll be up to those three to break them down

I went to Athens a month ago and then went sailing around some Greek islands. Had an amazing time, everyone was incredibly friendly, the food was great and the heat was outrageous. Can't wait for the Europa tie and best of luck with your season whatever happens

Imagine he must have pretty decent technique and something about him though if we're targeting a position we're not desperate for

This, supporting Newcastle is about patience nowadays. I'm pretty sure we'll get two new players in before the window and I've stopped worrying who they are and where they'll play. We've got a great squad for the league but will struggle to cope with the cups. We always would unless our squad was five players deeper.
