My feeling on Elanga is that he’ll come into his own when other parts of our attacking set up improve. Gordon is better technically at cutting in, once Gordon’s back to playing LW consistently and in form then teams will have to potentially double up on him. When Wolt is fully integrated he’s going to be a menace at drawing players to him and then releasing it to us in space. When Ramsey’s in the side then he’ll also unlock defences. Elanga’s game is built on pace rather than technique so he just needs space to run into. That space will open up when other areas of our attack are terrorising teams. I do think that Elanga and Wissa are made for each other if Elanga can beat his man and cut it back. The main issue is integrating everyone effectively

I agree, although I was most excited about Wolt. In fairness, Wolt, Ramsey and Thiaw are all really good technically but Ramsey’s ability to match technique with athleticism is something we are missing and will add a huge amount to our forward play

100% correct. There are a small minority of fans that want to be right more than winning even. The earlier they make a claim the more joy they get out of parading it in people’s faces if it comes true. For that small minority that largely get it wrong there is generally zero recognition and accountability for the times they get it wrong

Improving a player’s finishing is extremely difficult. You can improve their decision making in front of goal but actually improving technique on striking a ball is very hard after a certain age

I agree, very early days. My gut feeling is he’ll largely be quality and help us a lot going forward but will produce ricks at a higher rate than his counterparts. Will be worth it though and probably over time they’ll become rarer
