Nice little shade against Gareth when he starts as well. I respect Gareth for what he achieved and I think he’s a decent person but he was a terrible manager tactically for anything other than defensive shape
-
Sandro Tonali’s ban may have seen like bad PR at the time but the love he’s had from our fans and the player he’s going to be for us while playing for Italy is going to be incredible PR. We must look like a very attractive option to a lot of players knowing they’re going to be backed like that if they give their all (yes I realise that our fans give lots of our players shit but not the elite ones that we’re hoping to land in the future)
-
Wonder if Boehly knows the shit’s about to hit the fan for Chelsea. Sad
-
It’s the fact he looks so chill after that incredible goal that he’s a huge part of that gets me, just makes it look like he’s made a simple pass
-
Is Neesy not in for this one?
-
Maybe let’s not make a bold claim that he’s this year’s Lewis Hall (intimating he won’t get game time) after four games
-
Absolutely essential we tie him down to a new deal before the January window
-
This is what I watch football for, can’t wait until we have a player as talented as him play for us again
-
Good interview from Gordon, gives me a lot of confidence that Carsley’s going to be a coach that lets the players express themselves more
-
There’s a lot bubbling away under the surface and in the press columns, we’ll likely not know more about how they’re all getting on until January and how that window goes. The idea that Howe’s “playing style” is coming up as an issue with Mitchell seems frankly absurd. Is that just hack nonsense? He’s been here nowhere near long enough to have a view on it surely. If Mitchell did have an issue with it so far then he could go fuck himself in my opinion
-
Whether he comes here or not, his value will never come close to what they could have got this window ever again. Guehi will likely have a good choice of clubs provided he doesn’t get injured but Palace are the main losers here. We’re losers for chasing him so long. Guehi, not really a loser or a winner really
-
So simple, and equitable. No chance sadly as the politics in the game (control the big six have had) means there’s no chance any rules come in that aren’t gamed. The PL has absolutely zero interest in trying to create a fair product
-
I’m definitely in, waiting for final confirmation from my mate who’s meant to be coming up that weekend. He’s said he’ll let me know ASAP
-
Man U have lost a vital part of their puzzle there to take themselves back up into the elite ranks. He’d have sealed it up
-
Does Obafemi Martins never reference us / visit / have any affiliation with us anymore? A lot of our former players, especially strikers who got a decent number of goals talk very fondly of us but I never hear anything about or from Martins
-
That’s a real shame. Was a quality poster. I think the negativity on the forum was the key factor and he said he was going to leave recently because of it. Sad to lose a good poster when we’ve had an influx of turds in recent times

Textor can join the cunt table.
-
It’s interesting because we’ve underpaid for Gordon, Isak and Bruno by a decent margin
-
I’ll start giving him some credit if and when we bring in these quality players from Europe and other markets at good prices but Howe is far more important to us than him. Does Howe need to be flexible when it comes to player recruitment, possibly or even probably but everything Mitchell does has to be about finding a way of working for Howe. There’s compromise needed on both sides but it’s Mitchell’s job to work for Howe (even if he is his boss) and Howe’s job to let him do the work for him. They’ll take a while to trust each other but I’m going to take some convincing on Mitchell for sure and that’ll only come with repeated successful windows
-
Holding onto our best players while bringing in the calibre of player Brighton have signed in recent years and then keeping them rather than selling them would have us up consistently top four
-
It’s going to take a lot to overhaul our recruitment infrastructure. We’re clearly miles behind a lot of clubs but it’s achievable at least with the right people and processes. I wouldn’t call them digs as such but I’d say that both Howe and Mitchell have spoken in a way as to not take responsibility for the Guehi mess and to partly transfer that responsibility in a veiled way to the other
-
“We didn’t have the sales window we thought we would have – and we have to look at that strategy as well, was that right, it was all aligned with the head coach. We have a lot to look at.”
-
The PL is doing an incredible job of destroying itself and the game. Quite remarkable the damage they relentlessly inflict on it
-
It should be added that he has had a few shaky games already this season and even the best professional in the world could lose their motivation after being strung along by their owner like this. It’s clear that he was told that the move was going to happen I think and now Parish is doing damage management. An injury or lack of form and the value takes another hit. Parish might have helped save his ‘alpha’ imagine but he’s cost Palace massively
-
If Guehi doesn’t sign a contract extension and is still at Palace in the summer he won’t be going for anything near £50m in my opinion. Will be in the £30m range. We’ve already seen how cagey teams are about spending money, it’s potentially only going to get worse unless regulations change. Chelsea may be fucked by then, Man City may be in trouble too with their legal case. Save for a KSA big bid then Guehi could hold at around £50m in January but it’ll be a lot less in the summer
