Just to go back to that Pickford thing. RTG has previous. I remember them saying that James McClean was worth something like £20m-£30m
  2. Baldy. Baldy bouncer. Baldy, baldy, baldy, baldy. LEAVE IT!!!
  3. I'm not sure. I thought they had a fallout and got banned or fans that sat in that stand told them to fuck off?
  4. I hope you are joking about the drum?! That horrendous shite is for north west clubs, that can't fill their ground. So the echo of the drum reverberates around the empty stands. Wigan, Blackburn and I think Bolton used to always do it. Shall we see if we can get England's brass band, and all?
  5. Whilst I agree on how great the location of the ground is. I think you are missing quite a few decent grounds off, by saying 'every ground in the country.' Most London teams have stadiums in decent areas. Well, sometimes they're a shithole, but you have good drinking spots nearby. Spurs is the worst and have always hated going there on an away trip. But I always enjoy Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham. I found Liverpool and Everton pretty decent, as well. I suppose you might be suggesting that the area is a wasteland, though Norwich and Ipswich are well located, too. Within walking distance of a load of bars or the town centre itself. It does seem that most newer grounds, are in the arse end of nowhere, in a middle of an industrial estate, surrounded by shit food joints like Frankie and Benny's, KFC and Subway
  6. So are West Brom in for Messi? Pulis wouldn't want him, surely? Would ruin his formation of 4 centre backs, 4 centre mids, Darren Fletcher as the 10 and a big lump up front. No room for Lionel.
  7. Agree with this. I was saying the same to a former ST holder on Sunday. He packed in because of Pardew and just hasn't really felt like going back. I am slowly coming round to enjoying NUFC again. But I used to go fairly regularly. 8-10 home games a season and probably 5+ away. I think I have been to about 10 games total in the last 2-3 seasons and I don't have the bug like I used to.
  8. Reading back through jogged my memory. Was definitely good to see that we are working on different corner routines. Agree with those about fans getting restless, due to retaining possession. It's strange, as when we were doing it earlier in the game, the fans seemed to applaud it. Then, when we tried to kill the game and run the clock down and fans seemed to want us to hoof it forward and a lot of them started shouting and jeering. Reminded me of the Pardew days, when fans would get upset and anxious when we tried to pass it, but hoof aimless punts up field from the likes of Williamson and Simpson.
  9. I thought it was a pretty poor game and we should have been out of sight before they had any meaningful chances. We were solid enough, but perhaps a better team would have exploited us on the day. I thought Hayden was easily on his way to MOTM, but seemed to go missing in the last 15-20 minutes. Mitro was good, if a bit wasteful in front of goal. Dummett and Lascelles were both solid enough, same for Yedlin. Clark was probably MOTM. He is no nonsense and loves a smash. But TBF to him, he is actually pretty decent on the ball. Went on a mazy run early on and skinned one of their players with a drag back in the left channel I thought we were mediocre going forward. Atsu started brightly, then looked scared to take on his man. Gouffran doesn't have the ability to beat a man, so we had no real quality on a regular basis from out wide. Nice that they both scored, I suppose Only been to QPR away this season and I had forgotten how bad the officiating is. Just constantly getting things wrong, missing blatant fouls and offsides and no consistency whatsoever. The ref rarely seems to have control of a game, either. Oh and I'm sure it has already been mentioned 100 times. But it seemed like half the ground started applauding for 20 seconds of the minute's silence I could kind of understand it if it was for an ex-player dying or something. Nobody ever seems sure so just goes with the applause and grounds seem to go with that as the safe option, anyway. But surely it was pretty obvious it was for Remembrance Day?!
  10. Yeah, he looked better dribbling and turning players, his chest control was superb, as well. How much of it is due to playing in a shit division and how much of it is due to him improving? Bit of both, I reckon. He still doesn't look like a natural finisher, though. I thought there were a couple of times where he made the wrong run or reacted bit slowly. Missed a sitter when he had loads of time from the Dummett cross and also totally missed the ball when Shelvey found him from a corner. Sort of stabbed at it with the outside of his right foot, when he should have tried with his left from the angle. I thought he was arguably our best player, mind. Nobody played particularly well, but Mitro always looked a threat. Especially in the first half.
  11. Thought they looked class. Really impressed by how good they looked and definitely help create a bit of an atmosphere. Obviously the rest of the crowd go to sleep after 5 minutes. But it's better than nowt.
  12. triggs' Sissoko alarm must be going mental. He's getting even more abuse than he got during his time here

So Shints, are you the one that used to always post on RTG? "Shintz iz a gud lad marra". "Shintz iz gud crak for a mag". Did you fall out with them and that's why you seem to be so bitter and twisted about them?
  14. He (Icardi) also partially to blame for some of the mess also. ? Insulted their ultras and a lot of their fans now hate him. Cheered him missing a penalty, I believe. I guess a load of them think he is a bit of a scumbag the way he went on with Maxi Lopez' wife, as well. Different teams and a while ago. But the whole story makes for uncomfortable reading IMO.

It's really weird, we've always had how obsessed they are with us as a stick to beat them with but it feels as if there's some posters in here who go out of their way just to find something ridiculous to post about them. It's really hypocritical when there's 3 or 4 posters talking about how obsessed they are yet about 90% of their posts are in this thread and not about Newcastle. I've no problem with a Sunderland thread laughing at them but this thread used to be so much better when it was used only occasionally for funny stories in the media about them or funny thread like the Uncal Mick one on RTG, but every day this thread is top of the page and it's usually just something about how deluded a user is on RTG, when in reality they probably know fine well that they're going to be copy and pasted onto this forum. We're having our most enjoyable season for years and yet this thread is never off the top 5 threads on the forum. If you dare to criticise how obsessed people are over Sunderland in this thread this season you get accused of not being from the region and not understanding the rivalry, despite many of us (me included) being in the region all our lives and I've been to every home derby game for the last 16 years. It's probably massively hypocritical of me to say what people should or should not post but this thread has gone really weird the last few months. Maybe I'm in the minority but I thought I'd give my opinion Joeyt is spot on.
  16. First home game of the season for me and I'm really looking forward to it. Makes a refreshing change, after not being particularly interested or excited when going to games in the last 2-3 seasons. It's a shame that Ritchie is suspended, he is great to watch. I hope Atsu plays well in his place and maybe someone like Lazaar or Gamez get some minutes, if the situation allows. I went to the 5-1 Friday night game against Cardiff the last time we were in this league. Police everywhere and seemed to be a bit edgy in town. Really not a fan of Colin Wanker. So annihilating them 5-1 again would be nice.

  18. Darlow Anita Lascelles Clark Dummett Hayden Shelvey Ritchie Diame Gouffran Gayle Think he'll play that. I'd like to somehow fit Mitro in and maybe Atsu. But I can't see it happening. I think Yedelin and Atsu will get more starts in home games and it's probably the same for Colback.

    George Caulkin

National paper, mate. Great article yet again from Caulkin.
  20. Douglas is the NUFC editor. That would explain it then!

Didn't you used to be a regular on RTG, shinton? You were like the pet mag, they all used to love you "wey aye, shints is alright for a mag, like." What happened? Did they ban you? Justice for Shints! EDIT; Sorry, it was 'Ghost of Shinton.' Not 'shintonsghost' http://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/ghost-of-shinton.788289/page-2
  22. 7 + 3 = 9 That picture gives me the giggles, every time I quite like Douglas, always thought he seemed like one of the better NE journos. But that article is absolutely horrendous. Even the Joy Ryder wouldn't manage to make that many fuck ups, surely? What does the editor at the Chronicle do, exactly?
  23. I'd need to see how Mitro does against a full strength team before coming to that conclusion. Best we have played all season was probably QPR away. Small sample size so far, granted. But Mitro looks more suited to playing up on his own, than Gayle. Nice problem to have. Gayle is scoring regularly, Mitro is contributing when called upon. I'm sure he'll get a chance due to injury, suspension or rotation.
