 Got to love wearyside for trying, bless him.

Apart from bloody Shola. What on earth was he thinking bringing him on? I thought Shola did well after coming on - better than Ba showed. Pardew probably wanted to give him the chance to get over the stinker at QPR and show that he can rise above the over-the-top criticisms he's getting. notsureifserious.jpg He was fucking woeful, had one decent shot, give away 2 or 3 needless fouls, ran the ball into touch at one point and swaggered about in his usual arrogant and lethargic way. He was a disgrace, as per usual. Still, after all that, I can't help but like the bloke

Wow, some massive comments in here, total shite, waste of money, utter wank etc etc. Not his biggest fan and can eventually see him out the side unless he improves massively. Personally, I have been more impressed by him with each game that has gone by and can see a gradual improvement. He's infuriating at times, final ball is often poor and should take his man on more, but I think he's done ok. Usually tidy with his passing, when he gets motoring he's fucking rapid, has some good tricks and skills, plus he's got a great leap (even though he does mistime it a bit). I also think we need Jonas left side to help Raylor and not sure I want Marveaux on the right wing. Would also play him against Burn, especially if Givet is going to play left back. Got torn apart against Fulham and Arsenal.

Seen him against us and Wolves, been utter shite in both games. Hardly surprising when McLeish is the manager though is it? I know Zog is always a sulky cunt, but he looks even more depressed than usual playing for Villa.

Karl Henry is a thug, an absolute donkey who literally just smashes people, he has no footballing ability. It was also he who started all this war of words and decided he was going to kick seven shades out of Barton. Since then he's lost 4-1 and 3-0 when playing against him, Barton has also arguably been MOTM on both occassions. Not sure I believe this prick, even if I did, does it give Henry carte blanche to start booting him up in the air? Strange how he only mentions it now he's been made to look a cunt by Barton. #helmet

A lot of people seem to criticise his all round game and say he offers little. I'd counter that by saying he's the best all round forward we have. He uses both feet, not rapid but certainly not slow, wins a lot in the air, got a few skills and has an awkward technique that seems to help against defenders. He's hardly a world beater, but I don't just see him as a 'poacher' he has more to his game than just that. Gets offside a bit and looks lethargic at times, but I'm a big fan of his TBH. I've said before, if his name was Leonardo Bestinho and we bought him for £10m from Benfica, he'd get a more praise. He's not a big, fashionable name and he had a poor start to his NUFC career and I think some fans are still conscious of that. Glad to see quite a few coming round now and not just moaning and complaining about how shit he is.

My god Stoke were bad, Begovic should have saved the first and the last goal as well I thought. Fair play though sunderland, kept us in 4th place, ta very much.
-
Seems to be getting better with every game. Uses both feet as well, always like that from a player. As someone else said, I get the feeling he will go on a half decent scoring run once he nets his first. Seemed to play a bit deeper and help link the midfield at times. Whether it was a deliberate plan from Pardew or not I don't know, but he certainly prasied him for it after the match.

Must admit Im starting to get a bit disturbed about my longing to join in a goal celebration with him. I could have at Villa, was about 4 rows from the front and would have been one of the first to pile in for the celebrations. Got too over excited though and ran left, then right and then just stood on a rail for a bit cheering twat!

My missus said, "he's not that attractive" been with her 5 years and having doubts TBH. Might just dump her and build a shrine for this man, what a player, what a beaut!
-
Oh but it really sin't that simple, it's not simple at all........

Thought Pardew said all along if draining it doesn't work, then he will have to have minor surgery to remove some scar tissue, but not cartilage? In fact he did, here you go: The prognosis is still a lot better than the original AP quotes from Friday. Most were worrying that he would be out for about 2-3 months, doesn't sound like that's the case.
-
Sammy can play wide or up top, he's direct and has a presence about him. It's a no brainer, I'm confident even Pards will have him on the bench!
-
Not really, if I was being a pedant I'd say we'd end up quite narrow. Does Marv use his right peg often? Not seen enough of him, but looks pretty one footed.
-
I'm going to this but I'm dreading it. We never get sod all at Villa, been 4 times and got a point in total, conceeded 7 and scored only 2 Live about two hours away and stopping in brum, so will just have to get on the beer early to make up for the inevitable (sp) beating
-
Just as long as he doesn't start I'm happy, woever comes in for him is irrelevant. Marveaux, Gosling, Guthrie, hell even Smith, well maybe not Smith. Think Pilko is right, expect to see Gosling in for Strolla. Got a feeling Ba might start as well.

Everyones first two scratched surely? Not sure who else should be taken out though. So if Saylor or Colo get injured, we have Danny Simpson to cover and that is it :embarassed:

http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110916/santon-injury-update_2281670_2452970 Not really sure what to make of that TBH. Not sure if it's better or worse? Apparently not related to his previous injury and seeing a specialist early next week. Not like they've played down how serious it is though, waiting for the swelling to go down perhaps?
-
How do we know the severity though? Might have had half his knee taken out last time, now just trim the fat The fact he has had 2 maybe 3 ops on the same knee is a bit of a worry though. Has he got any menisucs (sp) left?
-
Didn't it then flare up again and he had to have a second op?
-
I don't think that many are expecting that much though Alex, obviously exciting for various reasons. There is a clear lack of creativity, a huge gap between midfield and the forwards, plus Shola is starting games. I can totally understand peoples optimism.
-
No way should Raylor be ahead of Ferguson. We might actually use the full backs if Ferguson played.

Great read and sounded like it was class, jealous much! Thought Carver was splitting up the cliques, no Frenchmen are allowed to sit together and socialise
