His game doesn't rely on pace, he could play up until he's 32/33 and in his later years just be used as a squad player. He doesn't look like he's falling apart like Nolan, I think this is the fittest I've seen him as a player. Yet most are going on like the minute he hits 30 he's going to develop athiritis and both his legs will fall off.

I was going to say, I couldn't see any sort of formula for how they worked it out. Didn't think my ST was bad value for money, when you consider some of the high scoring games we've had this season. A lot of Pardew's interviews lately don't fill me with confidence I have to say. Saying things like "trying to get the owner to spend" and talking to Llambias about how much will be reinvested. We needed to spend a fair bit before Carroll left, so we should be spending at least £20m-£25m on 3 or 4new players, can't see that happening though.

Especially in the last 3 games I have noticed that we seem to keep the ball on the deck a lot more than we did under Hughton. Now I know we had Carroll, so we utilised the long ball a bit more, but under Pardew we do seem to look after the ball pretty well and try to get a passing game going. If that continues next season then I will be impressed, I suppose a lot depends on what money he is allowed to spend. ATM, I'm not for or against Pardew, I still think he's a bit of a clown, but he's actually done pretty well considering.
