To be fair to Villa any time I've looked at their forum recently the vast majority has been nothing but complimentary towards us. We made it easy for them to act like arseholes that day. We got relegated, they took the p*ss. The way I see it we got them back when we embarrassed them 6-0 and that was the end of it. It's probably because we are separate cities whereas they're all together in one place. Much more chance of knowing a rival through family, friends, workmates etc etc and families are more frequently split between red and blue. For us, although we all know some mackems, it's a different place and so the attitudes are more polarised due to a greater lack of familiarity with the opposition. Look at the Manc - Dippers 'derby', that's a lot more vitriolic.

For me it's as much the fact that they show no will to improve or play anything approaching decent football. He's had quite a lot of money to spend and all he's done with it is bought big fellas who fit into his ugly football style. No ambition to play anything other than battering ram style hoofball, no ambition to do anything other than stay in the premiership, no ambition to develop the club at all.

That's good to hear. Seems we're getting quite a decent profile in France thanks to our french boys and the manner in which we've performed our business. It'll be the best in 60 years, tbf. It's something to look forward to over the summer.
