Positive news for a change!

Watched this yesterday about them and that is absolutely not how we played the 3-5-2. I think it’ll be a straightforward loss this one.

For all Bruce is a poor Premier League manager seeing quotes similar to that on a weekly basis used to absolutely kill me.

We were creating chances and playing fairly well before the red. Easily could've been 2 or 3 nil at half time, it had to be at least 1-0. Second half wasn't great, but we got the job done in the end. ?

Hard to gauge from highlights and match threads but was this one of our better performances this season then?

Wouldn’t really say he’s pro-Bruce. More he seems to argue the Bruce stuff is a distraction from the real problem. He's clearly got bundles of time for Bruce. Somewhat maddening that, as our rare 'friend' in the press when it came to Pardew, he seems completely blind to the obvious parallels between him and with the current arsehole. Unless I'm wrong of course and Bruce isn't a patsy. Definitely not wrong!

Lazaro for Richie would have been a better bet for me. If he’s just lumping Joelinton up front a long side Gayle you’re losing the advantage of the extra man in most areas of the pitch. Hoying another striker on against 10 men seems very Bruce though

Knew he wouldn’t play Lazaro for Richie. Seems like a mistake not to be aggressive against these. Hopefully Gayle has his shooting boots on

Supporting a club that's being deliberately stifled by those running it is getting dull as f*** now, bad results and relegations are the only thing that will change that. You'd know that if you had any ability to see the bigger picture. Said this a few times and I’ve got a feeling I’ll have to explain it plenty more. Being relegated is not going to increase the chance we’ll be sold to anyone worth buying. We’ll end up with Ashley longer while he tries to get back into the PL and he won’t sack Bruce. With your ability to see the bigger picture that I apparently don’t have do you think he’s really going to accept less money and walk away from his loan and investment? For me, fan pressure (like those who gave up their tickets etc), attacking his brand etc is the only way he’ll cave to one of these takeover bids. We’re currently making it easy for him. You relegation lot are like Brexiteers. It’s a shit idea that you’re all grasping to with no actual evidence to back up that it would actually work.

Lets be honest, Manquillo - for as steady as he's been - is another one we should be upgrading on. 100%. Players like him lower our expectations when they go through purple patches. Not pointing fingers here but I think a problem with our (and probably other) fan base is when a player starts off shit he’s then shit forever. I used to think Manquillo was our worst player by a distance but his form this season has been good. He now looks notably better than both Yedlin and Krafth and if we were to lose him for nothing we wouldn’t replace him with anyone as good. Definitely should be given a new deal and it makes sense from a financial perspective too.

I don’t think Richie gets the credit he deserves for what he’s done here at times but it’s pretty clear to see he’s not up to the pace to be a first team regular so this new contract for both him and Shelvey is a bit baffling. What’s worse is Longstaff and Manquillo really should have been priorities and there hasn’t been a word about either of them.

I think it’s a bit of an odd one this. I thought Bruce handled himself quite well but I also think he’s a shit manager and shouldn’t be in charge of us. I also like how Hope has been pulling him up for a lot of things lately but he also did a fair bit of shit stirring in that article claiming clubs are monitoring the situation which is obviously bollocks. I’m surprised how many people are taking Bruce’s side on twitter etc though.

Would be pleased with a point but expecting zero. I hope he keeps the 4 forward players the same but I’m guessing he’ll swap one out for Richie.

He seems to be getting a lot of grief from his performances, especially after last night. I quite like him though, he looks promising. He’s made a lot of errors and clearly isn’t match fit or back to the speed of the English game yet but positionally he looks good and he wants to keep the ball moving rather than it getting bogged down. More to the point I don’t think he’s as shit as people are making out and he might turn out to be a decent signing.
