It's hard to be too upset given how awful the conditions were, it didn't make it particularly entertaining. McClaren went for the win and we had the chances to do it but wasted them as normal. I thought Perez had pinched it at the end. Poor result but 7 points from those three games is more than I could have ever expected a few weeks back. It just makes it all seem less important given how everyone else around us has been winning as well.

Can't help but feel disappointed to see him go. I wonder how long it will be before he takes his next role.

I think I'd probably like to see Perez up front with De Jong behind him. His pace would likely cause villa's defence more problems than a physical battle between Mitro and Lescott but it's also massively harsh if Mitrovic doesn't get a starting place too. I know Gestede looked absolute dog shit last weekend but it's just the type of physical battle I never really fancy Colo winning.

If Jose is removed I'd love to see how Bielsa would do with a team like Chelsea and the resources they have.

Would also definitely start him against Villa but I can see McClaren dropping him. Mitrovic and Perez also deserve to start but I can't see how all can play in the same team.

Two fantastic results but I think we'll have relegation hanging over us right up until the final weeks of the season. If we could just beat Villa the momentum may be enough to push us clear though.

I was very similar to that last point under Pardew. It has somehow rekindled my interest since that cretin has left even though our league position is worse.

Out of interest from the people who want us to get relegated, what was the feeling at 1-0 with 5 minutes to go against Liverpool? Were any of you devastated that we made it 2-0, particularly the ones that said they'd cheer if we went down. Maybe I'm stupid but I always hope that we'll turn it around and progress. Results like yesterday's win is the reason why I bother putting myself through it every week and scouring the forums for any slight information. Surely no one really wants relegation, not deep down?

Can't wrap my head around how Perez and Mitrovic have found themselves on the bench. We need something really special today.

If that rumour is true and those three players are dropped while Colo and Sissoko are still on the pitch then he's got to go if we get a hammering.

Another slight positive is one of Williamson's best games for us was away to Villa when he was marking Benteke. I'm really clutching those straws here.

Was hoping Lascelles would play next game given how awful Colo has been. Not sure I'm as keen on Williamson playing.

Normally after a heavy defeat by Monday I've had a chance to digest the result and start taking the positives. Not this time. I can't see us surviving unless multiple factors change. I've even been consider if Rivière and Armstrong would be a decent Championship forward line.

Aubameyang has just scored his 24th of the season to make it 2-0. It must be fantastic to support a team like that.

The only mild positive is Liverpool play midweek as well. Hopefully they're absolutely awful, awful enough for even us to get something.

Completely disagree with dropping Mitrovic. He was poor against Leicester but his effort levels have been higher than some of the others. I'd also have played Thauvin and/or De Jong. It looks like the usual suspects have got away with it again. Such a shambles.

We'll win today. I'm basing this on nothing but blind faith.
