Great performance today. I don't think a single player had a bad game. Mbemba gave the ball away in a couple of dangerous positions but aside from that I can't remember anyone doing anything wrong. In the first half I was worried that despite the hard work we didn't have anything to really trouble them but Atsu's pace breaking forward looks much improved and Merino is the type of player we've lacked for years. He's surprisingly more combative and robust than I'd assumed. Same with Joselu. I thought I read Stoke fans saying he was pushed around easily? He was winning and holding up balls all over the pitch.

Definite win today. Screw these bad vibes ?
-
Has Remy had more than a handful of good games since he left us? Seems desperate and exactly the type of player we don't need.
-
I think we'll win. The pressure is on West Ham as much if not more than us and we haven't been as bad as what some have made out. Hopefully after a couple of games Gayle has found a bit of fitness after missing the latter pre-season games and gets a goal.
-
Carried us through games we shouldn't have won when the other outfield players didn't want to know and people are wanting him dropped after two games? Incredible.
-
Pretty much the same sort of comments from any match thread last season when we hadn't scored. ?
-
who's Douglas support again, Bradford? Yea ?
-
Happy with that! Fingers crossed for a win.
-
Who else would we play in midfield alongside Hayden like? Colback? Diame? Diame played a lot deeper in pre-season so I wouldn't be surprised if it was him. Hope I'm wrong.
-
I don't think it'll be pretty but I think we'll win today. I'd also be surprised if he'd start Merino because we'll likely entirely bypass the midfield with Huddersfield's radge pressing game. Loads of long balls and scrat a craft 0-1 win from a set piece.
-
Good luck to him ? It's not the most exciting transfer but fingers crossed for the lad.

Not massively keen on this but wasn't really moved at the prospect of signing Perez either. Hopefully it works out for him here ?

Seems a bit harsh to blame anyone for those Spurs goals. Both seemed like two very good pieces of play.
-
I'm a bit surprised at the over reaction to his red card. It was stupid and it potentially cost us a result but apparently he's shit and a liability now? Is this the same Shelvey that without him we've looked completely clueless without in our entire Championship season and pre-season this summer? Come on.

It's a great feeling to be back in the a Premier League but I haven't missed the feeling of hoping we don't get smashed every game. I was more confident earlier in the week but I think it'll be a tough afternoon. Would be over the moon with a draw. 1-1 Mitrovic off to a flyer.

Agree. Adrian isn't even a good shot stopper from when I can remember seeing him. He seems to let in a lot of simple goals. I'm not a massive fan of Elliot or Darlow at a Premier League level but it seems daft to spend what seems to be limited funds on a marginal upgrade.

Weirdly excited by this signing and I'm basis this on no knowledge of him at all. What has this window done to me ?
-
Not keen on this transfer at all. He's been poor when I've seen him play and a Sunderland supporting mate said he's one of the first to down tools when things aren't going well. That said... Every player deserves a clean slate when signing for us so I hope it works out for him here.
-
Like a lot of people I didn't want to sign but he's proven a lot of us wrong with some massively important goals. Good luck to the lad but it's a shame he ended up at Forest. I think he could have been a good signing for any of the top teams in the division.
-
Terrible signing. Hard to see what the logic is on this one. It makes not giving Anita another contract look even more stupid.

That guy on twitter is retweeting links from 2014 ffs

How can you judge someone so definitively at that age? I'm being lazy and using the Kane comparison already mentioned in here but he looked no where near the player he is now even as recently as when he barely played under Hughton on loan at Norwich. He had talent, got game time on loan and developed. One thing that caught my eye on one of those Jacob Murphy compilation videos is how good Armstrong looked for Coventry. I'm not by any stretch saying he's good enough now but he's obviously talented. Send him on loan and fingers crossed we might have a decent player all going well. I don't get how people can be so certain.

Why? What happens if he has a really good season on loan?
