  1. Still time... I'm sure the phones are red hot at SJP today, trying to drum up last chance interest in Sissoko and/or Tiote and/or Cisse.

    John Carver

On Totalsport last night, Anderson kept responding to anyone who was against Carvers appointment, by saying that any new manager wouldn't have a say in transfers, as had been stated previously by Charnley in that interview. He completely avoided the fact that a potentially better head coach from the continent, would be used to working under similar 'restrictions', but could do better than his mate, JC. As stated on here last night, bringing in a new manager now could/would be better, to work with the squad until the summer, given time to assess what he's got, so he can advise Carr/Charnley what he'd like, rather than coming in summer and having less time. Pundits/Carver supporters seem to ignore the fact that his management/head coach record over all the jobs he's had, just isn't very good. Yet they keep harping on.. "he's been at the club so long, he deserves the chance".

Totalsport last night, they had the fans forum members on, and Howey was sitting in for Ando again. Fans forum member.... "Carver is a safe pair of hands" Howey.... "He's a great coach, and has the experience to do the job" Enough said.

^ Thats it, in a nutshell. The whole club is run on doing things on the cheap, under the guise of 'value'. Exactly like when they sacked Hughton, because he'd supposedly took us as far as he could. They could have looked for a decent manager to takle the team forward, even paid a bit of compensation for one, but no - they went for an out of work bloke not long sacked from a league 1 club, who was desperate for a job, and wasn't even paid much (in comparative managers terms). If they do appoint a different manager in the summer, it wont be someone they have to pay compensation money for. It'll be someone still out of work, if they haven't been snapped up by another club. If no-one else is available, Carver will probably get it 'for a season' at least.
  5. I just hope that at some point, enough is enough and the majority at least rap in their season tickets. If they still want to go to games, or pick and choose their games, then fine. But the club clearly takes the regular season ticket income for granted. Also, when supporters have paid their £500 hard earned for the season ticket, it is probably harder to justify staying away. Hopefully once they are going/paying game-to-game and if things don't improve, it'll be easier to stop going/stay away until the message hits home to the fat man.

Reminds me of that West Brom match at the end of the 2010/11 season. Bet there were catering and club shop staff looking forward to a bumper bonus just after half time... 3-0 up and safely in the top 10.
  7. The amount of comments I've seen on various social media, people saying MYM was rubbish, and saying that was why he didn't get a decent run of games. This all despite the fact Williamson was often played instead of him. Seriously, can't believe people can be so blinkered/thick.

    Positives?

Hehe, clicked on this thinking it was anew thread, even more so after reading that first bit in bold. Wasn't till I got to 'Terry McDermott' I realised it was from 2006. Pretty damning that almost 10 years on the opening lines are still as relevant today.
  10. Was having another 'discussion' with someone on FB last night, about our former manager. here are some of their comments... "given the constraints he was working under, he did a good job" "Every manager in every league has their tactics, substitutions and team selections questioned. I'll tell you what, for the avoidance of doubt, I believe that Alan Pardew knows how to manage a football team. I think he presided over games in which his tactics, substitutions and team selection were spot on and that his stewardship of the team was about the best that anyone could expect under the Ashley regime." "Let's not forget, Ben Arfa- Pardew ruined him... oh no, wait. Look, my point is this: NOBODY could manage consistently at Newcastle United given the constraints of the current regime. Alan Pardew is a total ARSE of a man, a dreadful human being, but the half-arsed bar room punditry of the vocal minority of our fans is nowt short of embarrassing. Ironically, it's not all black and white at Newcastle United."

    Sunderland

He'll need all that in Sunderland.... he'll be spraying it everywhere he goes, to cover up the stink of the place.

    Sunderland

If you listen to Gabbiadini on totalsport.... "strikers as good as Defoe don't need as much service, they can sniff chances out for themselves". Making excuses for their lack of service no, and claiming it wont be an issue. I think he thinks they've signed Messi or Ronaldo??!!!
  13. Just listening to the totalsport calls, great call LFEE Haven't heard the 2nd one yet. Amazing how they seem to be backing Carver for the job because 'Garde won't come till the summer'... how do they know this, its pure guesswork, and just more retoric to back their mate JC. Steve Howey.... what a C***. Basically admitted to wanting JC to get the job becasue he's a mate, and dismissing everything else given as reason not to. UNREAL.
  14. Aye, knew Pardew would have big thanks for Ashley. Doesn't appear to go as far as wishing NUFC best wishes for the future, though (as Hughton did). Anyway, he's gone... Thank the lord!
  15. Superb news.... pissin mesell at all these gif's... top work. Now, we can (hopefully) move forward.
  16. Oh aye, I bet its in complete contrast to that of Chris Hughton, and after he'd been sacked, not offered a better paid job elsewhere... Hughton released a statement through the League Managers' Association (LMA) saying he was "immensely proud" of his achievements and wished the club "all the very best for the future". Wouldn't surprise me if Pardew mentions 'fan pressure' or 'expectations' or some such bollocks. But will have big thanks for Mike Ashley, no doubt.
  17. Whey if he's been analysing players performances and advising Pardew accordingly on who to pick and not pick, then good riddance that little gimp, as well!!!
  18. Will be Ben Stevens, worked with him at a few clubs iirc He's that kid on some photos who looked like a Psycho about to kill Pards. http://i3.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article6893754.ece/alternates/s2197/Alan-Pardew-and-Mike-Ashley.jpg
  19. Pardew demanding (Andy) Woodman goes with him too? Woodman is clearly Pardews protection when he goes on the lash. Bet Pards has almost had a few clips, smarming onto other blokes lasses, with his pulling specs on.
  20. That there is not a top class football manager At least he kept his pie under the desk. And wiped the mince off his gob!
  21. Looks like the New Years Eve P*ss Up starts at 4 then!!! http://www.hailhailmedia.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/champagne-on-ice.jpg  HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
  22. The FA quiz Colo about his badges
  23. I just don't see how it would work having Colo as manager, even interim. Surely the days of 'player-managers' are long gone. And He is still one of our most important players, so we need him on the pitch, not the touchline drawing cocks in a notepad.
