Went on to be a pain in the arse for most of Serie A with Udinese?
-
Too right...they acted like c**ts over Lingaard and it cost them ultimately. due to their greed. Let them have a taste of it themselves
-
I get that, but the 'limited window' thing doesn't really apply now since 99% of Premier league players make enough in a few months to set them up for life in terms of a normal employed person. I don't know what Dubravka is actually on, but i'd guess he makes more in 2 weeks than i would in a year. Would an extra 5-10K on his salary really make that much difference to him? Suppose in the very short term, being backup at Man U has a bit more prestige than being back up with us and might keep him in the eyes of the national teams?
-
How much do you have to be paid to the point that it doesn't actually matter as it becomes impossible to spend what you're actually earning?
-
Why is it unreasonable for us to act exactly as we have been treated? Being 'better' than that doesn't put points on the board ( and is a bit Mackem tbh). If they want our very good back up keeper they should be paying market rate, and not what Ashley has drummed into us as a fair price if we were buying, which is why we are all still seeing 30m as a big fee....especially when the likes of Wolves are spending almost as much as our (Isak pending) transfer record on Championship defenders
-
Getting out of Ashley era and into current transfers we should be looking for £15m, it seems Man U are not short on cash given that they've just spent 60m odd on a 30 year old who will cost them over 150m eventually
-
Got to be fishing, but i'll bite anyway.... Why? At present we could realistically be finishing ahead of them for a few seasons. They've become the basket case club we were after Keegans first departure where no-one could get things right for whatever reason regardless of outspending most. Apart from a few extra £££ on the pay check or a serious falling out with EH there is no reason to sit on Man Us bench rather than ours
-
Well who's to say we're overpaying as 30m seems to be the 10m of 96-2000. We need to get away from this ingrained Ashley cheapness where we think 35-40m is a big transfer now
-
We were linked....then went for Tomasson instead
-
In 2002 Nicky Butt was considered the best DM in the world. Pele said, so it must be true :-)
-
It smells of us signing Nicky Butt. Looks ideal immediately, but wont help long term
-
I think he only ever scored 1 from outside the box for Man U. Was absolutely supreme at penalties... always low, hard and in the corner, the most difficult place for a keeper to get to. It's almost a crime that he'd be fairly useless now since the pure poacher role is pretty much dead.
-
Might as well have. Nothing's changed

442.com reporting that we'll be wearing a one off kit for this as all kits clash Got to be a whoosh right?
-
Thing is...when he's talking about anyone else he actually comes across as quite well informed and articulate. Our hate for him clearly coloured his opinion of us
-
Wouldn't surprise me if they put in a £10m buy back clause for when he becomes brilliant again.
-
Can't really think of a direct comparison....maybe Hamann would be closest from how I remember him
-
I wish nothing but misery on them, as my ex keeps trying to get the boy to support them
-
Thanks for the recommendation. He's been a couple of weeks now and loves it. Can run with the ball at speed and be tricky as hell but can't shoot for toffee
-
Well they chose the 'official' nickname of 'Black Cats' based on the square root of sod all. It's not like they're exactly lucky!

Captain Steak Bakes (now managing Blackpool/revising history)
gjohnson replied to David Edgar's topic in Football
Pardew was a c**t. He knew it, we knew it, Ashley and Charnley knew it. He bought himself a bit of good will a decent league finish and never seriously looked like relegating us. He won't be remembered fondly by us, but it was realistically his career highlight and thats why he speaks well of us now. Bruce is a c*** but for very different reasons. 1) Man U 2) Never had a good word to say about us either before and after being "manager" here 3) As loyal as a cat on heat....as all of Sheffield, Birmingham, Palace, and even Sunderland would agree 4) Never accepts responsibility for a defeat despite his "1000 game experience" 5) The landlord stuff 6) Alex Bruce and El Mohammedy 7) Proving that you can become a millionaire by getting repeatedly sacked for being terrible at your job -
Eh? You've quite literally agreed with what I said wrt Allardyce
-
Suppose so. If they put as much effort into getting a decent team as they do in trying to be a 'community club' they could actually have a respectable team then kids would come back to them....not in the AJ sense of course My lad as example....loves football and is starting training thanks to a poster on here but hasn't even got a clue who Sunderland are. They may as well be on the Moon as far as he's concerned....he knows Newcastle, Barcelona, and Forest (Mother job) and that's about it (

They are now even begging schools for kids to be the mascots

How's the bacon? PFMs live by this as it's an easy way out
