  1. They strike the ball into the net and that right?
  2. Depends what you count as chances I suppose as those rates will include any type of shots I imagine? I wouldn't think there'd be too many strikers who get supplied with really good oppurtunites to score 3-4 times per game outside the top clubs.
  3. How many strikers get 3-4 chances a game in this league?
  4. Yeah a lot of excuses getting made for him still. He's still one of the more talented players in our squad, but he hasn't been even remotely effective for a long time. I can see why he's not been dropped though because ultimately you come into a new club, identify the best players, and try to get them back to showing why they were rated in the first place. With 5 games left time's running out for him to snap into form though.
  5. He was still s***, was completely skinned at one point, fortunate not to lead to a goal. Whatever division we play in next year an upgrade for LB is sorely needed. Don't think he was s*** at all tbh - Colback at LB against the mackems was s***, Anita playing there at Southampton was s*** and who can forget Aarons against Chelsea - Dummett is just solid but unspectacular. Solid is stretching it a bit, the guy is just plain average, he's the Mike Williamson of left backs, serviceable on occasion but will never take you anywhere, we let a far better player go, with a much higher ceiling just over a year ago for practically nothing. I agree though he is a lot better than the non left backs that he's had to put back there recently. Santon a FAR better player? Haven't watched him since he left but based on his performances for us that's a bit of a stretch. Think you might be letting Santon's perceived pedigree affect your judgement on that.
  6. Would you listen to Derek Wright?
  7. And it is daft when people say gleefully that Ronaldo isn't as good as Messi and dismiss him because of his comparative shortcomings. You don't get the same people ecstatically putting down the likes of Zidane or Brazilian Ronaldo in comparison, but some people get a weird joy out of having a dig at Cristiano if he has a slightly worse season than Messi, arguably the greatest of all time. It's just a bit odd.
  8. Even voting now wouldn't be great, if mahrez/kane/vardy suddenly score a goal per game and drag their team to the title then it should obviously be them. Just vote at the end of the season and present the award in the first game next year.
  9. Pretty sure he meant not good in the air.
  10. Don't think people are suggesting a lot of the individuals are incredible, but they irrefutably complement eachother perfectly and are unquestionably a good 'team'.

    Alan Shearer

Would feel safer publishing a cartoon of Muhammad than slagging HBA on this forum tbh

I'm not suggesting that he would, but he claims to love the club.. he obviously loves his salary more. Out of principle, if I was in that position I would walk. The club has to come first. Easy to say that on a forum when you're not actually walking out of a very high salary job at the end of your career. And you wouldn't have a part if you that think you could turn it around?
  13. So he's reportedly a decent coach. Doesn't mean he'd make a manager. Would bank on one of the much maligned 'dinosaur British managers' taking us up over him if it was my money.

There's no right formation, you look at the strenghs and weaknesses of the players and try to come up with a system. Unfortunately our squad is such a weird hodge podge of styles because we buy primarily for resale, that it isn't really perfectly suited to any gameplan. It's telling that in years gone by people have been screaming for certain formations or certain players, whereas this season no one has the slightest idea what our best team would be. Squad is a mess.
  15. Do we have his address? I've got some haribo tangfastics and half a chocolate orange, let's just send him a load of prezzies.

Yeah nothing to get worried about, think it's just our version of an end of year review in a normal job.
  17. Every manager talks nonsense, it just gets picked up on more when they're losing, which is usually when they have to do more of it too.
  18. Considering the other frightening options then yes I would, with some hesitation. He's never built a successful defence in his career (didn't see his teams pre-Wigan so that could be nonsense) so I dread to think what he'd get out of ours. Would probably score a lot of goals and be reasonably good to watch though so yes.
  19. This. Hans is silly. Proof is in the pudding is a fine adaptation. Silly Hans.
  20. I'm not sad enough to actually go looking for a quote but come on, you must've said something negative about Colback as a left back at some point, it's exactly the same in that they started at lb and then we're moved to the centre. He's just not very good.
