We’re possibly only going to have 4 games over the next 6 weeks, so if he could get back after that, it’s not so bad
-
I believe they’re open until near to half time. Certainly if you’re only 10/15 mins late you’ll be alright. I have heard people say that if you get there and they’re shut, if you find a steward they’ll let you in through the wheelchair access.

Even though he might well have turned out to be a complete disaster, the way this has been handled has been an absolute shambles. Likely to be toxic as soon as whoever does get it has anything resembling a negative result.
-
That game will get moved if Palace beat Stoke in the next round of the cup
-
If ever there was an embodiment of the move away from the Ashley era…

Whilst the point you make about the current loyalty points system is absolutely valid, every system has its drawbacks. If you look at systems employed by other clubs, be it set year rolling points, holding a % back for general sale, they all attract some degree of complaint. I’d personally be surprised if they changed it to any significant degree.

Not sure. Just says under the Brighton game on the ticket page. Can’t find anything else about it. Wonder if they’re coming up with something different for next season?

Club not accepting any new members after Feb 28th

The ‘Shearer’ song obviously gets a good airing at Man Utd, in response more than anything else. Other than that, the ‘O’Brien’ song remains a firm favourite wherever. Can’t think of any other former players than are regularly referred to?
-
Think that’s a really a really good point about the “who’s that team” song. Absolutely bourne out of defiance. In a way I’d like it to continue as we get better, as a big fuck you to everyone else. Hopefully with introduction of better players and (please, please) better results, we’ll start to hear a bit more variety/imagination in our songs. @HaydnNUFC you won’t have heard the Chris Wood song during the match as winning a header and a decent bit of hold up play doesn’t much elicit a song, but it went to the tune of ‘Raaafa Beniiitez’ ’Chris Wood’s a Geordie, Chris Wood’s a Geordie, He’s better than Saka, He does the Haka, Chris Wood’s a Geordie’

Interesting point about the songbook. Can’t decide whether having the same fans, or a variety of fans each away game helps or hinders that? At Leeds there was a Chris Wood song being sung (granted mostly before he actually played ?) that was sort of (!?) fresh and clever. I don’t think that would have been sung if his first away game was at Southampton midweek. Will accept the accusation I’m being judgemental there tho. Maybe I’m just a bit hyped up because Leeds was the last away game and it was soooo fucking good, but it just feels like games are going to be different/better than the last X years (and aye that’s probably cos we’ll actually be winning).

Resurrecting this thread (cheers @HaydnNUFC) to move a discussion on fan behaviour from the mackem thread. Not particularly a discussion about drug use, although that’s inevitably part of it, (so may need a title change any mods) but basically wondering if us becoming fucking mint (?) and tickets being like gold dust is going to improve the behaviour (particularly away) of our fan base?
-
100%. Someone find an appropriate thread cos I’m loathe to go full RTG and start up ‘Our Fans’…

Not to sound like a prick, but this kind of stuff is far less prevalent when tickets are harder to come by. At Leeds last week, where tickets were obviously really sought after, despite a (almost) standard allocation, the whole day was just a really, really good experience (apart from the shambles getting in to the ground and moving about at ht, but little blame for that belonged to fans IMO). I think it’s becoming obvious that tickets are going to become harder to come by in future, so although that is shite for a lot of people, it might mean we see a reduction in ‘loutish’ instances amongst our away following.
-
Sadly indicative of the majority of large (5k+) away followings these days. Obviously probably massively exacerbated by the fact they were so shite on the pitch, but we’ve seen this type of behaviour in similar at places like Wigan. Guess if it’s easy to get a ticket and a relatively short travel, you’re gonna get your share that are just there for the drink (and the rest) and the match is little more than an excuse.
-
It’s hardly a ‘surprise’
-
Those three players that Villa have signed were ones that the selling clubs were desperate to shift, so hardly surprising they were concluded relatively swiftly

Proper owner is Aulus. Nee pissing about trying to be clever.

The turnstiles looked like they were from the 60’s with a bit of modern kit strapped on to scan the tickets. Tbh the whole away end isn’t really up to what you would expect of a modern-day PL club. I went for a piss on the stroke of half-time and didn’t get back until 2 mins into the second half. I heard a lad ask a copper what was going on and his response was ‘this ground isn’t equipped for allocations this big’. Yes, you get a few dickheads doing stuff that doesn’t help, like smoking in the bogs or whatever, but facilities these older grounds do need looked at. The concourses at Burnley, for example, are just laughable. Unfortunately I think the only significant action that would ever be taken is to reduce allocations, and that’s not really what anyone wants.
-
Long and short of it appears to be that they’ve only got a limited number of away turnstiles any and then one of them bust, thus exacerbating what was already a pretty congested and chaotic situation. I saw numerous people getting turned away with what appeared to be valid tickets, being told they needed to go to the box office and sort it out. In the end I think they just opened a side gate about 3:15 otherwise folk would have still been queuing there now.
-
Tbh mate, it’s a bit of a myth that you can’t get away tickets with zero points. Obviously you’re not going to get to the high-demand games like Leeds or Brentford, and yes demand has increased with the takeover, but there will still be games that go down to zero points. It’s just a case of probably having to pick one of the less ‘glamorous’ games.

https://twitter.com/nufctrust/status/1485012408171221004?s=21 Appreciate many on here have reservations about the activities of the Trust and the personalities involved, however this is absolutely the kind of thing we need them to be getting involved with. What happened at the away turnstiles yesterday needs highlighting at every level. I was fortunate enough to get in before things got really hairy, however even at that point to describe the whole process as ‘shambolic’ would be a massive understatement. Hopefully they can get to speak to the relevant people so there’s a proper investigation in to what went on.

Don’t think we’ve ever had a more consistent player. Defensively rock solid without being superb. Passing more than questionable once attempting further than 10 yards. Been like this for 5+ years. Hasn’t improved/declined.

Anyone else read this in the style of Jeff Stelling on Soccer Saturday?
