Martin Dúbravka (now playing for Burnley)

Best debut vs Man U since Gutierrez -
Absolutely outstanding today! It’s really frustrating that he doesn’t perform like that more often.
-
Decent 1st half performance. We’re so s*** in the final third though it’s unreal. At least 5 times we’ve got ourselves into a good position and taken too long to take a shot or make a pass and let them off the hook. Dubravka looks confident and actually good. Hope we can keep this level up for 90 minutes and not just 45 like we usually do. Pawson is a bottling little weasel, he was about 5 yards away from that challenge, it was a clear pen and he knows it! We’ll get f*** all off him apart from the odd free kick on the halfway line. Hope the c*** gets toothache.

Such a slow team. Not confident of getting anything at all now. -

I’ve said it for years, the only way to get rid of Ashley is to target Shit Direct. I think he’d sell up within a couple of months we did some serious damage to his baby. -

So predictable. -
Wew. Amazed someone gives that much of a fuck to be honest.

All the 14 year olds on Twitter who love him are the best. “Here man yi havnt got a clue yi daft c***! Mitro iz wkd and he’s raj aswell!” They’re at Bolton today so a decent chance for him to get off the mark.
-
He was a very promising youngster but he didn’t really improve after 2004. Injuries obviously played a part but i also believe it was down to his layed back attitude. I remember watching an end of season interview with him where he was asked if he’d be watching the World Cup, he said something like, “Nah i’ll just be going on holiday and chillng out”. You’d think a footballer with drive and ambition would want to watch the best players in the world playing in the most prestigeous competition but he just didn’t seem arsed about it at all Him staying at Newcastle for so long is a symbol of the lack of ambition shown in those years. He was never really good enough to even be a back up striker but there were times when we had to rely on him as the main man, ridiculous really! When you take that into consideration he probably did a decent job, even though he had myself and many others pulling our hair out at times. He had some great moments though. His goals in Europe and against the mackems are probably the highlights for me.

I’ve always thought Warnock is his own worst enemy. He’s slagged off officials so much and for so long that they all probably enjoy screwing him over by now. His interviews are entertaining but some of the decisions he rages about are nowhere near as bad as he makes out. I haven’t seen the ones from last night so i’m not on about them.

Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester

Sounds like he’s not just here to dick around for a few months and he actually wants to stay, good news if he’s genuine. His form and the amount of goals he scores will play a big part in how the season pans out for us. -

Mourinho is areet IMO. He looks like a man suffering with a lot of stress and/or depression, hopefully not though obviously. His handling of the lady physio was terrible and i’m sure it’s something he now regrets. He’s a great character but he seems to have become quite unreasonable and grumpy as the years have gone on. He’d probably benefit from having a short break from the game i think. -

I like that, as someone said, perhaps with Dummett for Clark. Also, on form, possibly Perez for Atsu. Yeah thinking about it Dummett is more likely to play as it gives us more flexibility to switch to 4-4-2 if we need to. Definitely think i’d prefer Atsu to Perez though, his pace along with the likes of Murphy, Kenedy and Yedlin could be good for us i reckon. -

Alternate XI but i think Rafa might use a similar system. Dubravka Lascelles. Lejuene. Clark Yedlin. Diame. Merino. Kenedy Murphy. Atsu Slimani -

It’s not down to just 2 players though really is it? We lack quality all over the pitch. -

Its not exactly a witch-hunt. People are rightly pointing out that we've conceded quite a few goals recently that have come from his being nowhere near his marker. He's also produced some good last-ditch saving tackles and blocks, and has been a decent threat in attack. The mistakes lead directly to goals though and someone else should get a fair crack in his place. This is actually a decent, balanced view that i agree with. Some of the shite on forums and social media recently has been ridiculous though. Every time we drop points there has to be someone to point the finger at it seems. -
They must want to see more “football on the front foot” and “fret” i’d imagine.

Aye get Lejuene back in. Clark isn’t great but there seems to be a bit of a witch hunt building against him at the minute. There always seems to be one of our players that a section of our fans love to blame. I’m interested to see who they turn their attention to next. -
Had a laugh at this one. Who do you reckon is to blame for their current plight? Moyes for taking them down? No. Allardyce for leaving them? No. Short for his poor decisions? No. MLFs for demanding the head of every manager after a few months? No. Jack Rodwell? No. Jimmy Hill? No. The Magedia? No. Steve Brewce for spending a fortune on a load of s***? No. MLFs for watching the game in the pub instead of getting behind Quinn’s ambitions for the club? No. It’s erm... The top 6 that are to blame apparently! https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/cancel-your-sky-subscriptions.1416986/

Their biggest mistake was assuming they'd always just stay up, hence none of their players and especially the big earners had relegation clauses. If they go down again and he' still there, Rodwell will be on the same money in league 1!! And they also have Kone in the team who looks like he doesn't want to be there, and plays as such. Bet they wish they'd taken that bid from Everton for him now. I sometimes listen to Totalsport on the way to work and i’ve heard about 5 or 6 mackems saying, “If Kone can get back to form he was in under Allardyce.....etc” - That was 2 years ago and his good form only lasted about 3 or 4 months FFS
-
Aye. I rated him when he was at Wigan and West Ham. His bursts from a deep midfield role were really effective so i was surprised to see him used behind the striker last season.

DeAndre Yedlin (now playing for Inter Miami)

Tough afternoon for him but most full backs struggle against Zaha. I won’t be criticizing him for this one. -
I was quite pissed at the time but i thought Benteke also had a hold of Clark. Right or wrong?
