  1. Man City just aren't blessed/lucky in this competition. Real Madrid and Liverpool most definitely are and always have been.
  2. If these massive fanbases manifested themselves in attendances neither of them would be in the third tier but games in the PL at either ground where there weren't thousands of empty seats were rare.
  3. First semi-final they might fill the ground for since us in 1990. Palace empty seats, Man U league-cup semi half-full, Portsmouth half-full. But aye go on about how great your support is for a one off like its typical and get exceptions and rules mixed up
  4. Klopp drug a performance out of them again
  5. That's up near the airport no? What a mate reckons anyway
  6. Giveth with one hand and takes away with the other fkn Boringmouth 1 up
  7. Luton's ground is horrible but so unique I'm glad its still there. Got there for the 94 cup game, terraces above seating at one end, all exectuive boxes to the left, ramshackle old stand to the right and in the away end you basically have to walk through a regular house and up the stairs and across the back garden to get into.
  8. Both right. Went down with the mackems and Boro in 96/97, came back up, and went down again in 98/99. Never lost against them in the PL. Not a million miles away. They're my preference.
  9. I heard the Royal Mail were slashing deliveries to some areas. You don't get many free samples through the door any more. and so on and so forth
  10. First time I've done everyones fixtures instead of just the teams that were below us a few months ago. Got Southampton going down on goal difference from Brentford (who I've got on the beach relative to the other teams they play (Everton, Leeds)) - they play next I believe. Lot of 'six pointers' between teams below us. So effectively on that paralell universe that game is the decider.
  11. I was a huge Robert fan and argued many a time that his goals and goals created were worth the price of his laziness defensively. Defending is part of the team. Offensively no problems. Milner is a great team player. probably no more useful than Robert in attack, but look at the difference in careers.
  12. Ginola got no heat under KK, Gascoigne, Tino and Solano were beloved. Solano had as much flair as Robert but the consistency disguised it. The only flair players that some fans had a problem with weren't great team players or didn't produce tangible goods enough to off-set that: Robert, Mirandinha, and ASM. Its why these players don't have great careers generally.
  13. Knew somehow a club owned by a woman that's got 22,000 for a women's game in the 4th tier including a lot of families and a lot of young lasses and a lovely moment for all concerned that otherwise would have never happened just had to be the epitome of evil.
  14. There's no way these are going down sadly.
  15. They remind me of O'Neill's Leicester - Lennon, Savage, Izzet, Walsh, Claridge, Marshall, boring strip and ground, spoiling bores arses
  16. Everton v us and Man United all over again.
  17. I/we mentioned 3. So obviously not. ASM is the only one borderline. Like Gazza was. The others we know are or aren't good enough.
  18. Tell this bitter cvnt that the reason we spent that in line with FFP and the reason we were down there is because of Ashley's underspending and general holding us back putting us at that disadvantage compared to these helpless other clubs. Norwich weren't being held back and didn't have the capacity to do that whilst Everton have massively overspent
  19. Mostly not but there's no debate about them, that's more like Winterburn, Clough and Smith trying to get in - nobody's even watching them really - whilst Gazza has a chance and is entertaining and you actually want him to, if he'll buckle down. Fraser might on account of being useful and reliable now. He'd be Trevor Steven. Maxi-pads (I bet that's already been done, but just in case)
  20. I've got Leeds getting another 5points and Burnley another 6. Predicated on a draw with us. With Everton having Brentford and Palace at home and Watford away, could be as tight as gnats chuff. Could be a delicate balancing act that last game, losing and sending Everton down one minute, then a goal for them could mean were losing and sending Leeds down, would just as soon win the game if that's the case.
  21. Its like weve got a world cup round the corner and a squad to decide on from quite a big pool of players. ASM is getting the friendly time but he's not doing a Gazza against Czechoslovakia and making it impossible not to select him. Quite the opposite.
  22. On 09/04/2022 at 17:55, Wolfcastle said: Can easily make a case for Burnley beating Southampton, Wolves, Villa at home and Watford away with a point somewhere else before they play us. Two wins needed. unnamed responses: 1) Can easily make a case for them not beating any of those teams either. They have won 4 all season, have picked up 3 out of the last 15 and let's be fair they were very lucky to have beaten Everton midweek also. 2) Honestly Burnley are a dark horse for a Europa Conference League spot.
  23. The only thing unfounded about it was that Ashley wasn't genuinely interested in selling as the next 11years showed. Had his bluff called on selling then disappeared.
  24. Anybody got the Oxford game highlights from that promotion season? Was on youtube but was taken down before I illegally downloaded it. Is kind of a forgotten after and before the lord Mayors show game and I think the season videos has music over it. Was straight round the shops the day after that Sheffield Wed game to get Mathie 14 on the blue shirt. Great night.
