Arsenal next for Everton. Bottom versus top. Can see either story. Everton win it 1-0 or Arsenal spank them and that'll have to be it for the manager.
-
Good result for us, still the sooner it hopefully goes tits up at Chelsea the better. Good manager and unlimited spending is bound to pay off and they're back based on that.

I'd rather not with Gordon but defer to the manager/structure and accept were going to get the odd Kitson (really good player but not worth the hassle we put into it to us) under KK because the vast majority of business will be successful. Including stuff we weren't sure about. Wary of basing much on players on one season, seen a lot peter out after the flash in the pan.

When I seen some bullshit about us going for him (and Brozovic) straight after the takeover, a bit dribbled out, I wont lie.

They're used to 3rd division stadiums and mentalities

^ Not sure how little know that is about Cantona. It was well known the only reason he was in England was because of the chaos he caused in France. Was on trial at Sheffield Wednesday before Leeds. England wasn't a major league at the time. Certainly not liable to get French internationals by normal channels nevermind on trials. Wow! that's the first I've heard of that. Seems I was reading about an appointment or sacking somewhere or a diagnosis not long before that. Top free-kick taker and that Red Star team was special. The CL/EC final was rank but the stuff they played in the semi against Bayern is worlds above anything you'll see now.

Scrunching them up and throwing them at each other, stewards and opposition players. Trouble at every game. Game liable to be more volatile than usual. Game to be televised so more people will see such behaviour. Definitely the clubs fault and not their d1ckhead support

Ashley. Ran us well, so the counter arguement went. Despite Leeds and Leicester spending time in the 3rd tier during his reign, starting out well behind us, having far less PL money over his reign, having smaller fanbases and smaller stadiums they somehow are ahead of us.

Sold Andy Cole pretty much this very week. We were 4th and on the fringes of the title race with a good chance in the cup then too. Other than that not similar at all really.
-
Satisfying score. Always fearful of a reaction to a bad run or particularly bad defeat - Palace have nipped that in the bud. "there are other runners if the front runners should fall" - round up narration over our win at Ipswich in 95
-
Any replacement would likely enhance our reasonable chances of finishing top 4 and in the league cup.
-
Might be more obligation than option, predicated on them staying up for example. Unfortunately they'll have Charnley on the case (last I heard) so this could take some over the lining yet
-
Serves absolutely no purpose unless there's an incoming. Can't believe we'd be putting our trust in a not yet fully returned Isak and injury prone Wilson at this point.

There was an article in the Mag reprinted from the Sunderland Echo about their gates in that promotion season at the time of writing being lower than ours were in the 91/92 season pre Keegan and calling on them to start going to game (will have to dig it out). Even though their gates might have picked up the back end of that season through glory hunting it remained the case. Newcastle 91/92 pre Keegan and having our worst ever season: 18500 Mackems winning the league in 95/96: 17482 (their biggest in years)
-
Grew up in Washington. Sunderland is a 12minute drive away and have never once gone or been dragged there shopping and had one night out (work). Travel has nothing to do with either of those. Its reasonable to conclude similar applies to football.
-
The implication must be that if it wasn't for our influx of fans in the 90s that their support would be better, but only if you include their own 90s influx. Some gibberish like that.
-
Chelsea cup replay in 95/96. Ten men for half the game, out on pens. Shed a little tear at having to settle for just the league. (little did I know)
-
You know when they got promoted in 95/96 and football was a lot more popular and everything. Why didn't they have their version of '1992' where we got promoted to 30,000 full houses every game and thousands locked out, instead of averaging 17,000?

Easily. Literally took being owned by a saboteur and managed by a washed up madman to relegate it. There's no other way you could relegate Harper, Krul, Given, Barton, Butt, Beye, Bassong, Milner, N'Zogbia, Viduka, Owen, Enrique, Jonas, Colo, Carroll, N'Zogbia, Martins. Duff, Smith, Saylor, Nolan We were on the bones of our arse at the back end of 14/15 added Mitro, Thauvin Wjynaldum and McClaren. Would have been long gone were it not for Rafa making a fist of it and wouldn't have been a surprise

Aye come to think if it that ITV show was called the Premiership and that was from 2001.
