  1. I haven't celebrated Newcastle goals like that I think possibly ever. When Wilson tucked that one away the relief washed over me in an awesome wave and I just lost it. Incredible, I actually can't believe we've just done that. Pope: 7 Trippier: 10 Schär: 9 Botman: 9.5 Burn: 10 Bruno: 8 Joelinton: 10 Willock: 8 Almiron: 10 Wilson: 10 Isak: 9 Anderson: 7.5
  2. Until (hopefully) Monday, without a shadow of a doubt
  3. Bawled my eyes out there like. Just a massive relief of tension. That last half an hour has taken 5 years off my life.
  4. Outstanding half, so important that we got at least that second goal there. Won't feel safe unless we're on 3 or 4 but tactically that's been managed brilliantly so far. The boys from Brazil just need to calm the fuck down, the target is the champions league, not satisfying your egos.
  5. Yeah, this is sort of my thinking as well. Although it's not because I think Wilson deserves to start, but that he's better suited to the match. If we could guarantee a Man City level performance from ASM, I'd put Joelinton back in midfield and move out Anderson.
  6. This is how it starts, give it a year and we'll all be comfortable calling him a cunt
  7. It's all relative. Jenas is just a lower ranked player that fits the same attributes, he had a lot of hype around him, was constantly strongly linked with Arsenal, and was regularly picked for England. All despite having one good half season in 02-03, then turning into a bang average incredibly spineless footballer.
  8. Our most overrated player this season and I don't mean that in a negative way, I don't mean that he hasn't been great, nor is it meant at all as a criticism of him or his performances. All I mean is that, particularly amongst non-Newcastle fans, he's been given an unbelievable amount of plaudits that imo go way beyond how good he's been and certainly far beyond how good Fabian Schar, the better of the two CBs this season, has been.
  9. I'm sorry, I have a girlfriend. They did similar against Arsenal and were incredibly risky, I just wonder whether it's a case of them playing with fire or all part of their plan. It'll be interesting to see whether like you say we can take our chances (something despite having a brilliant season we've been very guilty of) or whether Howe will go more for something nearer to what Everton did and hit them fast and hard on the break, which is what we did to Man City when they came up here.
  10. Totally agree. I'm still disgusted by Klopp getting it last year for finishing second.
  11. Just a question to throw out there without thinking it through. Do you think teams like Brighton who play it around at the back and use their 'keeper as the extra man, could come undone if the opposition start also putting someone on their 'keeper? Like I said, I haven't thought it through, just thinking out loud really.
  12. That's just suicidal. It doesn't have to be drastic, we've altered how we played against Man City, Brighton, Arsenal to try and get results. We're playing a team who've beaten Man United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal handedly when they weren't smart about it. Thankfully Howe's said it's likely to be a tactical battle, which to me indicates he's not going to have us pressing hard.
  13. There's a list of players that have played for or been touted for the top clubs, with huge fees mentioned, without ever looking like the player they're hyped up to me. Players like Jenas, Morata, David Luiz, He's on it at the moment and I don't see that changing like.
  14. Not a good week for North East teams so far ?
  15. It's outrageous like. Oliver shouldn't be reffing Liverpool or Man United either.
  16. Starting to think Man City might win this.
  17. If RM win it from here I'll believe in witchcraft tbh
  18. It's men against Spurs this
  19. That's a succulent little header like
  20. Gonna be mad in 20 years time when I'm asked about this team that won loads of Champions Leagues and I'm like "honestly, they were shit"
  21. Far too much hubris from the commentators about Man City dominating like. it's like they've never watched this insanely spawny Real Madrid team.
  22. It needs to be 6-1 on aggregate with 5 minutes left for me to believe Real won't somehow win
