  1. He’s been, more specifically his lack of pace and decision making, responsible—or most responsible—‘for another two goals in last couple of games also. He’s been little short of his standard since he returned. Doesn’t take much of a percentage drop to cease being an asset at this level. Let’s hope it is a blip and with a bit more protection in midfield and more of the ball he can find the groove again.
  2. Did look like him/his hair. Is that the security guy (bald head Rob the right, glowering at camera).

Can’t spot myself. Was hoping for a ‘green/yellow away top’ moment! (I may have been too busy still waving my keys at a Makem builder…).

  5. I’ve added Keegan’s second spell to his overall record as our manager. Still leaves him best overall performer, points per game (PPG) wise but only just. Should Howe’s team accumulate 31 points from the remaining games this season (title winning form admittedly…) he would become our, relatively speaking, best ever performing PL manager with a PPG of 1.77. Unlikely, but point is he is already outperforming Robson and it is easy to forget how good a job he is doing overall.
  6. Pretty much the same sensible but bad choice. Except used a wildcard.
  7. Hopefully no change to remit. That is the kind of shit—removal of influence—that can signal the beginning of the end. Think Keegan 2nd term. You have to trust and defer to your experts, if you want them fully engaged to ‘the project’.
  8. Point stands. Would you want to craft a team with what you’re given or with what you choose?
  9. Given the amount you have spent to build a squad, the huge world profile of the club, and the continued eminence of your near neighbours, I imagine it feels more like the place where the once probable seems frustratingly out of reach.
  10. As it should be. He has the expertise. Any manager who backs himself would want control of such decisions.
  11. Our best performing PL era managers. Even given recent disappointments, not too shabby work from young Eddie.
  12. Thought it might be helpful to compare EH’s record, to date, with our most successful PL era managers. League games only. Season by season breakdown in the spoiler (*end of season position shown in italics/brackets for partial seasons).
  13. That was soooo painful to watch. Then I remembered 1995-96, particularly our home game, and I smiled through the remainder.
  14. I’d respect your opinion more if you decided it was all the hoarding’s fault, stripped naked and kicked the fuck out of it.

    Dan Burn

It’s one of our centre backs that has been done for pace, leading to a goal, two games in a row now. Shame we don’t have one of them with pace.
  16. It’s just boring now. Burn blah blah blah is all I process. He’s more than earned a little patience.
  17. Absolutely loved seeing all those moments lined up. What a season he’s having, and in difficult circumstances given the absence of big hitters around him much of the time. Think how good could he be next season!
