  1. I’m in pre-match (deluded) optimism mode! Did we beat them preseason? Can’t recall and .com are down, but we beat them this season, and their seeking revenge for that will be outweighed by our seeking revenge for what happened there last season. HTL ( no’wubble you’!)
  2. Good words. It’s all all the blend @timeEd32 and he’s been an important ingredient in some of our best performances.
  3. Really enjoyed that. I know he gets pelters, but I’m warming to Sir Les’s young cousin. He’s definitely got a soft spot for us now.
  4. Ah! Well. Only six months before we can ‘enjoy’ the speculation again.
  5. Too many people using stats the way a drunk uses a lamppost, for support instead of illumination.
  6. I just nearly spat my coffee out when I sat down to Sky Sports News and they stopped blasting on about Miggy going and handed over (to that one who looks like the epitome of a cockney barrow boy) to discuss positive news of a midfield signing… Yep. Young Lewis. Like a new… .
  7. Chuffed for the lad. He’s relentless. Quick as a whip. Intelligent. A good communicator. Passionate, a grafter and fully engaged to the cause. Think he might just be becoming my favourite player.
  8. Hope he got good advice. I’m sure what he was offered would have been a massive jump from what he has been on, easy to have your head turned by that. As I would also guess that his new deal is mikes away from Longstaff or Joelinton. Possibly similar to Anderson?
  9. Gameweek 22 Forest 1-1 Arsenal Fulham 2-0 Everton Luton 1-1 Brighton Palace 2-1 Sheff United Villa 2-2 Newcastle Man City 3-1 Burnley Spurs 2-2 Brentford Liverpool 1-2 Chelsea West Ham 1-1 Bournemouth Wolves 1-1 Man United
  10. I do like that they have one of a proud Northumbrian, with 261 appearances for his beloved Newcastle United, topped off with a solid performance in a third in five years FA Cup win. What a Geordie hero! Magnanimous them Makems. Makes me proud to be ‘North Eastern’.
  11. I think overall I agree. Having the semis there kind of tarnishes the specialness of the occasion. That said I think I have been to three and (leaving the match, result and miserable journey home via fecking stay over in Coventry) the semi against Chelsea at Wembley pre match and occasion was better than the two at Old Trafford.
  12. Of all the speculation, the idea that makes the most sense (though who knows!) is that the loan with obligation to buy for £30m (I believe) was tied to appearances. If we (a) didn’t want to to buy him, or (b) didn’t want to buy him for that, and there was wriggle room to buy for less, if he didn’t meet the required number of appearances, then we might be trying our best to limit his game time.

    Nah… woodwork not rattled yet.
  14. How about ‘Miggy Almiron is sick’ easily interpreted as fan admiration—might wring out an extra few million Riyals.
  15. One of the grounds we always seem to struggle at, regardless of form/personnel. Last six L 0-3, L 0-2, L 0-2, L 0-2, D 1-1, D 0-0. Two 1-0 wins for us prior to that, 2014 and 2015. Add to this, that they are sitting in 4th 14 points above us with good home form, having thrashed Brighton and beaten both Man City and Arsenal. They will also be stinging from being battered 5-1 on opening day (though, just checked, and they had 16 shots to our 17, and possession was pretty even). Makes bleak reading. Can’t shift the feeling that there’s something in this for us though ?‍♂️.
  16. True we were. Though Tonali and Bruno did not really click (understandably). And former seemed a bit lost at times. Point/opinion still stands though. I think Willock, particularly his ability to carry us forward, has been the biggest miss.
  17. Think Little Joe, is the biggest miss. Closely followed by big Joe. Bruno didn’t play well last night, but can’t expect him to be exceptional every game. Which is basically what he needs to do to compensate for what the other two don’t offer.
  18. I think there will have been enquiries about players we want and think we had/have a chance of attracting. These probably prioritised in terms of what Eddie thinks we need now to continue competing this season. In order to afford this, I think we need to sell. Wouldn’t be surprised to find out, if we ever really would, that the four senior players linked with moves had been to some degree offered, or at least interest encouraged. I don’t think we would push players out, so if Miggy, Calum and Tripps don’t want to go, can’t see us making hard for them to stay. Lascelles will go I think, though maybe in the summer. Of the other three, I don’t think anything is happening now with Trippier. Watch this space with other two. Almiron most likely to go if he says yes and everything else aligned.
  19. About 8 numbers I’d like to see come out, preferably after number 16. So I reckon about a one in 4 chance of feeling happy and optimistic. Chuck in the ‘it’s our year, seaweed turning anti clockwise in the wind, football gods owning us one,’ malarkey… yep. Nailed on. Maidstone at home.
  20. What’s wrong with ‘show my arse’? You have put me right off my chocolate cheeros.
  21. Don’t think that trio works. Something off in the balance and personally I thought Bruno was just a bit off his game tonight. We kind of need him to be exceptional to compensate for what Miley and Longy don’t offer (they do offer plenty too mind). I actually fancy us to put in a performance against Villa. I’ve seen enough in Liverpool A, Makems A, and City H, plus the scrappy win today to make me confident that we’re on the up.
  22. Not like you to predict us to ‘win’ though ?
