  1. He rightly slag off NUST in his show tonight. I cant believe that toothless run and got reelected. I use to admire them right up to they meet Masters and sold over Newcastle United. Yeah think he nailed it when he said they were more interested in recruiting new members and holding elections.
  2. Quite the scoop You really are miserable ain’t you Personally would have banned him before Penn.
  3. Who do you think you are, Michael Parkinson ? Was always partial to a bit of Parky.
  4. I take it the majority on here won’t be listening to mimms old man on the Steve Wraith show tonight ? Probably a good thing I would hate for the stream to crash for us regulars.
  5. It’s an oasis manorpark free from any disbelievers, hopefully mimms will join us shortly.
  6. Because he isn't. The chances of Mimm's been right are about 1%. Mimms currently has 100% accuracy for statement predictions. Just saying.
  7. To be fair Mimms is scarily accurate. The club rarely makes a statement and he’s predicted 2 in a row. The fact he’s now telling us to make room in the fridge is enough for me.
  8. Must admit I’d have preferred the wording of announcement to statement, but who genuinely knows where this is heading.
  9. This action may lead to a formal decision, which according to Caulkin weeks ago was one of the aims of legal action. However, it may be a formal rejection which would then open the appeal route, basically I wouldn’t be so sure this will be the end of it. An appeal process could take a year, whether the Saudis are prepared to hang around that long will be the question. I will caveat the above though by saying I think the PL’s lawyers will advise Masters and Hoffman their on dodgy ground, which will get us the required result in next month or so. No way in the current climate will the PL want an expensive court case with the potential of a 300 million plus pay out to Ashley if they lose.
  10. Get yourself over here Mimmsy lad, you’ll never be questioned by the salt of the earth on this thread.
  11. Hello again my old friend. Magpie Media @MagpieMediaa Takeover is closer than ever to being approved. PL want to settle this out of court and just need a few more pieces of evidence provided to them by the Saudi PIF which will be given in the next couple of weeks. Jamie Reuben’s step down was significant #NUFC
  12. Interesting when considered alongside Jamie Reuben resignation. Could we be close ?
  13. Q & A with Liam Kennedy in shields gazette, pretty similar to what he was saying midweek. However, he does think the Jamie Reuben development is significant. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/things-are-developing-behind-scenes-newcastle-united-takeover-moves-assessed-after-jamie-reuben-bombshell-3013580
  14. My theory is the PL are dragging it out as long as possible in hope it still goes away. They don’t want to approve it. It’ll get to xmas and near the window, we’ll be hanging around the bottom and with no sight of any movement from the PL the buyers finally call time. Ashley will sue the PL in 2021 and win, but they’d rather go through that and lose money than upset so many other parties. That’s possible and obviously our worse case scenario. We have to hope a potential legal settlement of 300 million plus is what pushes it over the line. This was Liam Kennedy’s take on a certain someone’s show last night. He said: “I wish I could tell everybody everything I know, but you can’t do that in these situations. “Things are ticking away. The legal cogs are turning, and things are happening. “That doesn’t mean we are all going to get the result that we want at the end, but it’s a positive in itself that everybody is still at the table. “Everybody [who] is part of the consortium, the legal team [and] other legal bodies [are there]. “Everybody is there, and they’re talking; the Premier League, Newcastle United, and Mike Ashley [and] Justin Barnes. “Everybody is there, and things are moving; I want to give more, but I can’t, unfortunately.”
  15. The general consensus seems to be we’ll know if this is happening by December / January. Does anybody have any theories why by this point we’ll know ? I mean by all accounts the bid is still on the table, so if it was about providing new info a decision could be reached at any point. The only scenarios I can think of is that’s how long it will take De Marco to present case to PL and ask for decision, or the consortium are restructuring the bid. Beyond that I can’t think of any other reason for the expected timescale.
