  1. Under Ashley there was no expectation for a transfer window. This has to go down as one of the most frustrating summers in 40 years of following this rabble. What a wasted opportunity to push on through complete mismanagement.
  2. We don’t sell him to Liverpool at any cost unless they’re daft enough to pay 200 million. This is an attempt to weaken our position, it’s imperative we don’t roll over and accept anything under 150 million from anyone. If we sell Isak to Liverpool it’s more than losing our best player, it’s a psychological blow to everyone connected with this club, which will open up all the old insecurities everyone associated with us.
  3. No dressing this up it’s a season ender before a ball has been kicked. We can’t complete more than 1 deal at a time and now we’ve been distracted from other positions in need of strengthening No idea what Sociedad’s sell on clause is, but I’d hazard a guess it’ll be hefty. Absolute amateurish from the club this summer and shot ourselves in the foot. The club need to stand firm and tell him he can go next summer. Not often I agree with Edwards but the optics here are everything, if we buckle it’s a bad look and sets us back considerably. This is a big moment for the club and confidence of fans in the whole ownership.
  4. Let’s face it the Sporting Director is here to broker deals Eddie wants. Where not going to attract anyone with much credibility with that remit, it won’t have gone unnoticed that the previous 2 DOF have pissed off feeling unfulfilled in the role.
  5. Exactly, why would he stay to carry through a transfer policy he doesn’t agree with. This is Eddie’s window and next season will tell whether that was a wise move, or not.
  6. Devils advocate here but maybe Mitchell thought fuck it, I’ve got a list of young players in Europe to sign and the manager won’t agree to any of them. Evidence so far suggests PL experience is the driver this summer and can’t imagine Mitchell would be on board with likes of Wissa at 29.
  7. It’s a joke how many of these tickets will end up on tout sites? The cheapest hospitality that normal folk could just about afford as well. The sooner Eales and Silverstone fuck off the better.
  8. Think this needs answered by the club, leaves a very bad taste.
  9. It’s exactly this, where working on the outline planning permission and engaging with the key stakeholders to make sure they’re on board. I wouldn’t expect a running commentary on something like this it’s high stakes, the application will be called in so it’s important all our ducks are in a row. PIF are going nowhere, but yes by fuck they are slow with their decision making.
  10. If where sitting waiting on Guehi then we really will deserve criticism at the end of the window. Lot of factors at play here the main one being we just can’t afford the players Howe wants. I’m not convinced Howe is going to veer from his methods and just resort to a pool B of targets. At this point I doubt we have a pool B of targets. Our transfer strategy is clearly not fit for purpose for the stage of growth where at. The last DOF warned of this last summer and received pelters.
  11. After watching that today and the games towards the back end of last season, if we don’t sign a creative midfielder/10 where fucked. It’s Howe’s major blind spot for me and Elanga won’t solve the problem we’ve got breaking down teams.
  12. Starting to look a bit of a clusterfuck this window, can’t fault the ambition, but unless they’ve got a b list of targets I can see us ending the window really short.
  13. It’s Si from the Hairy Bikers does well apparently. Not sure they’ve realised he’s a Mag yet though.
  14. Eddie is in charge of transfers and obviously doesn’t think he’s worth 40 million. It’s his call who we go after this summer and he knows what we have to spend. The only complaint he can have is that we haven’t got the administration in place to negotiate multiple deals.
  15. It’s not even in question for me, our transfer strategy is to shop at Harrods with a Waitrose budget at the minute. We want sure things and it appears Eddie and his men are risk averse. Mitchell might have his faults but he called it last summer. I’m really not sure what our scouting team have been looking at these last 12 months, the majority of links are historic and lazy.
  16. I’d hazard a wild guess that we sign none of those 3. I don’t mind Downie most of the time, but that video was a bit strange, all about give me a likey like and subscribe to my channel vibe.
  17. Clearly all part of the Eales/Mitchell v PCP power struggle last summer, think the contract was promised by Amanda wasn’t it ? Just think they need to include Howe in the selection process for the DOF role, clearly some kind of old pals thing went on with Eales and Mitchell.
  18. Mitchell was under contract and should have been made to see out the summer. Even if it was just to share the work load and help negotiate deals, we’ve left ourselves woefully short. I called this when it happened at start of the summer, whatever people think of Mitchell it’s far from ideal and timing couldn’t have been worse.
  19. Wissa, Lookman, Sesko and DCL can’t really think of any other strikers out there. The lad from Porto looks a bit raw for the money he’d cost, but surely there must be an exciting young striker in Europe that’s not been linked yet ? If we are trying to future plan we should be all over Sesko.
  20. Ekitike, Cunha and Huijsen that’s it.
  21. Great target man Sesko. I actually think Isak enjoys playing wider, or coming from deep, but can’t see this one unfortunately.
  22. Does Sesko not play alongside Openda at Leipzig ? Think he’d be a great signing if unlikely due to cost.
