  1. Been a good day for us so far then
  2. I really want him to shine with us, but he needs to get himself fully fit for that to happen. A good pre-season will help in that regard. I like that he acknowledged that he’s a different player under Howe and realises that he has to defend. I think that structure has harmed his game although he’s clearly trying to improve tactically
  3. We’ve got the ‘hardest’ games left of all 3 from a quick fixture check. But this next week is absolutely massive for all the teams involved. I’d say we make top 4 if we come out ahead come the end of next weekend
  4. This something that’s we’ve done already right? And it’s a yearly total? Apologies for all the questions, just trying to understand this process a lot better than the headline £105m over 3 years. My naive view is that when I see all these reports filed, pretty much every club in the division is easily reporting this type of loss over the period allowed
  5. What’s allowed under this approach?
  6. If he’s not going to play, then there’s no point in keeping him here
  7. You’d think West Ham will be able to get enough points at home to survive, but it’s going to be tight
  8. It’s a huge week for us and I’m hoping we can start it off with a win. I’d say this is probably the defining week for us and top 4 considering the games that Liverpool have to play over the same period (Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal) as well as Spurs (away at Everton and then Brighton at home)
  9. I’d prefer Leicester going down so we can go after Maddison and Barnes
  10. We have 12 games left so 36 points to play for. 6 wins and 2 draws from the final 12 gets 20 points and is achievable. Who knows if that will be enough to get 4th
  11. l think we’d only be tempted to only look abroad when the release clauses are available and not too large. For example, I’d go for Urgarte from Sporting who reportedly has a clause of around €50m. That would be good value to me as I think he goes for a lot more than that if he signs a new deal
  12. Some really good players on that free transfer list - their agents will be making a lot of money this summer
  13. True. My (made up) belief is that he was told Southgate straight and that’s why Southgate wasn’t bothered when asked the question about him being in New York. I’d like to think people can have these conversations in football, but who knows
  14. Rashford will play for sure. It’s fairly obvious he pulled out of the England squad purely just to rest and take a break. He’s played a lot of games in a such short space of time this year so I have no issue with ‘knock’ he’s carrying to get out of international duty
  15. I watched Urgarte in the second leg of the Arsenal v Sporting game and he was top level. Even the second yellow he got in extra time was because his game was non stop flying into tackles trying to break up play. Not sure on his sending off record, but I’m sure that can be managed
  16. I’d disagree with your 2/10 rating, but that’s why television (like football) is great because it divides taste and therefore opinion. All the shows you mentioned are great - although I’d say Breaking Bad was extremely overhyped in my view which is similar to your point on Sunny I guess
  17. It’s clearly not mate. I’d acknowledge that it’s silly, exaggerated humour, but I think it offers some charm and the characters are great
  18. Another reason why this international break is daft. You just can’t halt the league season at end of March and expect players and clubs not to find a way to use it as a time to rest. I know they need to find space for the fixtures, but it just doesn’t work at this late stage in the league campaign
  19. That’s why I’m still annoyed about the Ayew tackle on Schar from Friday night. It was a scissor tackle from behind and he didn’t get the ball. It was a clear red card and Schar was extremely lucky he did not have a serious injury as a result. The referee and VAR brush it off because it’s only two minutes into the game. Not sure on the rules, but if the referee gives him a yellow, does it then mean VAR can check if the card needs to be upgraded?
  20. I’d be happy with bringing him in as an extra body, but I doubt he’d want to be a bench player
  21. The next 6 games for us are a tough run in and that’s what I think Neville is getting at in terms on the experience of managing that type of situation. I’m more interested in how we cope with the three away games in a week. It didn’t work out great last year when we had the same thing, but we’re a different side now so I’m expecting us to get some good points there
  22. Yeah I’m still raging about the referring and the way Forest went about that game. So glad we got the win that was deserved
  23. Why haven’t they mentioned the amount time wasting going on. If it’s us, then they talk about it
  24. Happy we’ve gone in level. I’m still so angry with the officiating in that half - it’s quite possibly the worse 45 minutes I’ve ever seen. I can’t understand how they only have one yellow card
