    Anthony Gordon

Why would we even do this, makes no sense whatsoever other than to be seen to be doing things regarding selling players. There’s just no way we go to Liverpool and say do you want to buy Gordon for £60m plus Quansah - I just can’t see it
  2. Seems like the most logical way forward to help both teams not fall fowl of these made up financial rules - this whole thing is just ridiculous
  3. There’s no way it would be that much, but I guess we don’t know the size of the gap right now. My view has always been that if we value a player as a future or current star then it’s worth taking the heat and going heavy on the legal side rather than just selling for the sake of selling. I actually think if we get £30m for him then that’s great business (even though I’d rather he stay) as we don’t know what he will become. I I liken it to Ivan Toney, I always believed he would be a top player, but he needed to leave us to get it that full value stage
  4. I don’t see why we aren’t just taking the points deduction instead of messing about trying to shift players at the last minute. If we think this is great business and will allow us to spend more money then that’s great, but this clearly about balancing the books, which is just wrong. Take the sanction and argue the case at the appeal. There’s weight in the argument that don’t have anyone to sell and the rules are just not practical for a team trying to rise up the league
  5. I’m also of the mindset that who gives a shit. We’ve tried our best to comply, but if we can’t then so be it. The rules shouldn’t be there to force you to sell your best players when you can afford to keep them. Take the points deduction if it comes and then argue on appeal that we’re trying hard to align with the rules, but it’s not possible for a business to grow without losses taking place
  6. Pretty sure that the last time this was discussed and he flat out refused it as an option. He needs the day-to-day grind and being out on the training pitch with a club side. It’s too early in his career to consider the role
  7. I’d rather we go for Federico Chiesa. Obviously olde than both Olise and Mbeumo, but I think he slots in perfectly for the way we play
  8. Yeah it’s a very strange experience
  9. There’s no way Leicester will accept a massive points deduction like that and I’m sure they’ll fight this to the highest court possible
  10. I really think the fact that it’s a Euro championship and Copa America year that this will have more of an impact on the rest and recuperation going into the new season But do we really have a huge amount of players competing anyways…. If this Aussie trip ends up helping us get the income needed to stop the sale of a major asset then I’m all for it.

    Next season

I just stuck some money on us to win the title and I’m going with that. Man City will be docked points next season for sure, Liverpool are in transition, Chelsea changing managers again puts them a step back and Man Utd are just shite. We’ve got players to come back in and no European distraction. As long as we get a better set of fixtures at the start of next season, then I think we’ll come out flying Happy with those 25/1 odds
  12. Yeah and the approach to both those finals was spot on. Everyone behind the ball and playing on the break
  13. I just find this whole rule absolutely ridiculous. The prize for winning the cup is winning the actual fucking cup! In what world is it fair to even Chelsea who finished two places above Man Utd and then ending up in the third tier of European competition
  14. Would DCL even want to move to be an obvious second choice and on the bench for most of the season - I’m not so sure
  15. No doubting his quality, but I really don’t see where MGW plays in our set up. He can’t come into a midfield three as his best work is in forward areas and is far less defensively minded than everyone else. We’re already so open in that midfield as it is. Maybe he works on the right side, but I’d be looking for someone with more flair, pace and trickery
  16. I’d actually take that lad from Luton, he’s such a handful and gives us a different dimension. Looked good every time I’ve seen him and a solid backup
  17. I’ve always said that his defensive positions are not great, he’s cost us so many goals with just being slow to move up the line. You can forgive this when he’s so good going forward and a massive part of our good attacking play, but I’d rather see Livramento in the side now
  18. I love how we don’t take any shit from these clubs anymore - so refreshing seeing someone have the might to stand up to these bastards
  19. Yeah he really should be vice captain now at least. He plays every game and is everything you want from a captain out on the pitch
  20. Then it gets missed just like yesterday. I don’t think we’ll ever get past that sadly unless a consensus decision system is used instead, even without a challenge system. The issue that we’ve got is that the threshold for a mistake is still subjective so we need to try and get to a place where majority rules - like yesterday would’ve 9 out of 10 people saying penalty, so let’s go with that.
  21. Hopefully the new offside technology coming in will make decisions quicker and reduce the issues with the tight calls. I still maintain that the only way forward for VAR for everything else is to move it to a challenge system like cricket. Each team gets a review of a decision / non decision and then a panel of officials then vote on the call and majority rules. Football decisions are subjective and this is the only way to try and counter that. Take yesterday’s penalty claim, we ask for a review and then 5 people on the panel say yes or no penalty.
  22. Fair play to them, the mix of runners from midfield with the ball in behind us is causing us big problems
