It does, but only when we’re electing a new Pope.

Her importance to getting the takeover done cannot be overstated. I hope the club make her life president, or there’s some gesture to recognise how pivotal her and Mehrdad have been.

Explains why he fell off the bike.

Honestly man, some of our fans are hysterical cretins ‘Lack of communication’ just seems to be a catch all when people are vaguely disgruntled about something. I don’t think that the club are particularly uncommunicative. Far from it. Anyone going on about the stadium and training ground should be written off as a complete clown. These are capital projects that require vast amounts of planning. We know both of these things are being looked at. People need to accept this. The stuff around PIF’s interest (or lack of) just highlights that people do not understand why they bought us. We are an instrument of soft power for Saudi Arabia. Their day to day involvement will always be arms length, and we’ll always be just one among many. This is what we sold our soul to the devil for - to be part of a wider portfolio. As for PSR, if we get to January and we’re compliant then the club have pulled an absolute masterstroke. Overseeing huge investment in the first team - taking us from relegation fodder to CL contenders - during a period when commercials were being rebuilt and the squad was at its least saleable, and only losing two fringe players. That’s pretty good.

Sounds like the perfect Dubravka replacement.
-
I think it all depends on the year that’s dropping off.
-
Not worth overthinking where he fits in the pecking order IMO. He’s the warm body we’ve undoubtedly had to accept to get the Anderson deal done. That’s basically it.
-
Rate Anderson but £35m is a very, very good deal.
-
Every transfer window we have posters booting off because we haven’t strengthened the squad enough, despite the fact we know these rules exist. This is not a place full of mentally sound individuals.
-
Because of the rolling nature of PSR it’s both.
-
Because it would help them in PSR terms too? Get the money from a sale, amortise the purchase.
-
People need to make their peace with the fact PIF aren’t going to go to war with the PL. They know they’re not popular.
-
Not necessarily. If the sale is driven by a PSR concern it’s not going to be available, at least on the same terms, once we address the shortfall. The idea we might sell someone else and suddenly Minteh’s not available could put pressure on interested teams.
-
I think that’s fanciful, but I could believe were leaking stuff to try and force the hands of other clubs for players like Minteh.
-
Just because you think someone should exist doesn’t mean they do.
-
Let’s see how things stand at the end of the transfer window, eh?
-
That’s an overly simplistic way of looking at it because of the way FFP works. But even accepting that statement as true, we need to raise the floor as well as the ceiling. Last season our biggest issue was squad depth - the existence of it or quality of it. If we’re serious about competing we need a bigger pool of Premier League ready players.
-
The sooner people accept that deals for players like Minteh, Harrison, Kuol etc are just as much about grabbing assets we think we can flip for FFP purposes as they are getting future NUFC players the better. We’ll be doing a lot of this over the next few years, especially with the way we’ve been aggressively hoovering up young talent to pad out the youth teams. Don’t get attached.
-
As a replacement for Wilson, fine. We’re not getting anyone of any greater quality to sit on the bench for most of the season. The Minteh stuff I don’t like, but it depends on the terms of the deal.

Club football management and international football management are completely different propositions now. We know how Howe works. He’d seriously struggle to imprint his very particular style on the squad with the limitations international management places on coaches.
-
Generally defend Southgate, but TAA in midfield is one of the most baffling decisions I’ve seen an England manager make. It reminds me of posters on this place insisting we bung a ball playing centre half in midfield.

Noon are 50 per cent owned by the entity that owns 75 per cent of us. Do we need someone at PIF to organise a meeting with themselves and explain why mistreatment of migrant workers is bad?
-
One of the first posts after the article was shared is “what about Liverpool’s sponsor” man
-
Football fans are fucking odd. Imagine breaking your back to minimise the misbehaviour of our fucking sleeve sponsor It was bad enough when we had people leaping to the defence of the Saudis, but let’s not completely debase ourselves by saying it’s fine for Noon to be cunts because Amazon are a bit shit too.
