  1. It would be very easy for us to piss millions up the wall on a marginal improvement and find ourselves financially hamstrung in a window or two when a real game changer becomes available.
  2. It’s mad how low res photos of a shirt laid on a Chinese factory floor don’t really show it in the best light.

He’s a perfectly adequate left back when playing with a keeper who isn’t trapped in his six yard box. As a centre back though, he’s a colossus. It shouldn’t come as a surprise given how good he was during his first half season really.
  4. He had some great games at left back towards the end of last season. It seems daft to write him off on the basis of the first game of this. EDIT: fwiw I don’t think he was particularly bad. Early yellow wasn’t great, and he had a ten minute period in the second half where he kept trying to play little flicks and losing possession. I don’t think anyone in defence deserves anything other than credit for how they kept them out given the circumstances.

    Fabian Schär

Never a red card man. It wouldn’t have even been a talking point on MotD if not for Diaz’s histrionics. It’s the sort of clash that’ll happen dozens of times up and down the leagues over the course of the weekend. The hope the scruffy cunt snaps his leg in two.
  6. It always feels like he has a monster 10-15 mins after a mistake. He gave away that free kick then spent the rest of the match just getting his body in between the ball and opposition. Basically killed the game.

    Pete Graves ruining it.
  8. I’ve missed Premier League officiating.
  9. That would be an appalling experience.
  10. For all the cryarsing about minor design choices from our fans, I’ve seen loads of supporters of other clubs absolutely waxing lyrical over our kits. I don’t usually buy football shirts because I’m a middle aged man who hasn’t played five-a-side in nearly a decade , however there’s a very good chance I’ll end up getting both our away and third tops.

If Palace can trick us into breaching FFP we deserve a points deduction.

Time to look at alternatives, I’m afraid. £65m is seriously pushing it in terms of value and we can’t afford to keep pissfarting about waiting for Palace to leak their position through the Daily Mail.

Hair like a Squaresoft RPG character.
  14. I like it. As far as overpriced pieces of fabric that I won’t buy go it’s nice.

    Kieran Trippier

Tino was always going to start the season just due to match fitness, so I suppose it’s not that surprising of a comment. The rest of the comments are very Eddie-speak for “he’s off” though.
  16. I look forward to the next Silent Hill being set in Cruddas Park estate.

Speaking as one of the leading members of the Miggy hate brigade, I think everyone needs to calm the fuck down and trust the club on this one. We’ve an opportunity to sign one of the best young centre backs in the league who has just had a breakout performance at an international tournament. The club have - rightly IMO - decided to pull the trigger and get him, presumably because CB is more of an immediate issue due to injuries as well as the fact Guehi basically sorts our defence for the long term. If there was an opportunity to sign someone of equivalent pedigree on right wing I’m sure there’d be a discussion, but I very much get the impression we don’t see much we like right now given the lack of solid links. In that situation I’m not opposed to us keeping our powder dry if it gives us leeway to move for someone better in the later in this window or the next. All things considered I prefer a Sandro Tonali to a Sander Berge.

He’s trolling. Anyone who disagrees with me personally on any topic is a WUM. My opinions are so clear headed, well thought through and indisputably true that it’s the only explanation.

£40m would be even better. £130m on the other hand…

I don’t think it’s an either/or situation when it comes to centre back and right wing. I reckon the club are still expecting interest in Almiron, Wilson, Trippier, Longstaff etc but it’s been a really slow window. There comes a point when you’ve got to pull the trigger.

If it happens I’d yank my end off. Unfortunately it feels a bit like the sort of rumour that’ll bubble for a couple of days and then things will go deathly silent. If the narrative hasn’t moved beyond ‘in negotiations’ by Monday I reckon we can put a pin in it.

    Kieran Trippier

I’m happy to keep him. If there’s not a need to sell him for PSR purposes then I’m not sure why we’d get rid tbh. Most clubs would kill to have a pro like Trippier around the place, even if he’s increasingly going to have to play second fiddle to Tino.
  23. Imagine if we’d signed Sander Berge when we had the chance.

Well if you do spot anyone chatting shite let me know and I will knack them.

    St James' Park

Staying in the city centre is non-negotiable. I don’t care about the potential upside in terms of commercial revenue by moving to a plush new stadium. People don’t realise how brilliant our match day experience is compared to a lot of other clubs. I’ve watched a lot of football around the country and had to endure a lot of cramped bus journeys back from soulless, retail park bowls. It’s fucking miserable. I question the priorities of anyone who wants to destroy that. I’d leave millions on the table to preserve what we have. It’s one of the best things about following NUFC.
