I don’t think we’ll sign anyone and I don’t think that’s an issue. The squad is vastly improved on where we were twelve months ago - look at the spine of our team ffs - and it’s unreasonable to expect the owners to be able to address every weakness in two very different transfer windows. We’re at the start of a very long ride. I’m just going to try and enjoy supporting us for once.

Where do we stand on player registrations? Hard to see us bringing anyone in (except maybe a centre mid) unless we can move a couple of players on.

I don’t understand the received wisdom on here around Lascelles like. Perfectly serviceable centre back who has more good games than bad for us. His form went to absolute shit under Bruce but then so did Schar’s. He’s got a rick in him but I trust Howe. Today was a tremendous demonstration of why we must keep hold of ASM. Once we add more quality and teams can’t marshal him as closely as they may like to he’s going to be lethal. He had Walker looking like he’d been on the meths.

All I wanted from today was an indication we were progressing and I got that. Played them off the park for the first 45 and posed a threat throughout. ASM was majestic. It’s obviously gutting to be 3-1 up and draw, but I never really believed we’d win even when Trippier scored. If you’d offered me five points after the first three games I’d have snapped your hands off. We’re a couple of good players away from having a really formidable side.
