  1. I am a pessimist and even I’m not worried about this! A Fernandes shot from Rangers what you should be worried about!
  2. Southampton are so bad that the most you can hope for when they’re playing a rival is that they make the game last 90 minutes
  3. I got the impression he was told he was done at City rather than choosing it himself.
  4. If Palace are content to do a deal at that price in June maybe, but good chance Palace mess around and start by asking for 70m or something and they don’t get real until August. If that’s the case I think after last summers shambles they’ll move on
  5. The transfer budget won’t be fixed until they know what European competition they’re playing in next season, so anyone who claims to know what it is talking rubbish
  6. How long does the concussion protocol rule Willock out for? Didn’t realise it lasted over 10 days, thought he’d be cleared by this game.
  7. Either spurs or Man Utd will win the EL and Chelsea will walk the EC. Time to make your peace with that. A spurs / Man Utd final would be pretty funny, the loser will be wrecked.
  8. Given the current approach to goalkeepers they’ll sign all four.
  9. Yes, the way to losing against Man Utd is to not take chances and then find Fernandes punt one in from range on 87 minutes.
  10. I was hoping VVD and Salah were both off, would be a huge blow to replace them at once. Liverpool are arguably the only PL side who could do with a striker and could attract and afford Isak, so having them need to buy replacements for TAA, Robertson, Salah and VVD would be very helpful.
  11. Well part of the reason it’s so hard for the promoted clubs is that the midtable teams are all currently well run, that will change and someone else will get a chance. The PL used to have some dreadful teams hanging around 13th-17th, including Brice era NUFC, I think having a competitive midtable is a decent offset to having the promoted teams being really competitive. If Potter sorts West Ham next season it might only be Everton that are an active avoid. Although this season was probably a bit too extreme
  12. The Chelsea away game is a bit of an oddity as there were no fit midfielders IIRC, Longstaff, Willock and Joelinton were all injured, Shelvey had gone so it was Gordon and Anderson alongside Bruno. Still it was a lovely day out in the sunshine baiting Lampard, good times!
  13. Not sure Forest will feel pressured when they’re having such a lovely time of it, and have lasted for 31 games already. Zero chance fans get on their backs, or the manager feels pressured. Agree with the above, nobody is betting on Everton or Spurs to beat Forest. Spurs is away but if Spurs get booted out the EL 3 days earlier then you’d probably prefer to play spurs away - the atmosphere will be toxic, Ange will either be sacked or it could be his final game, Forest will be all over them
  14. Presume never had to pay those add-ons!
  15. Did he really cost that much? I remember his performances just after he signed and just thinking good grief, what have they done singing this guy. If he signed for 14m he must be on a decent wedge, no wonder he’s hanging on to the bitter end.
  16. I take your point but we’re talking 6th choice here - that means not always making even the bench when everyone is fit, except for a real youngster it’s not an attractive offer to many players. The squad could really do with another top level CM as agree the drop off is too big, but I’d be fine with Longstaff being 6th choice. Although perhaps it’s time for a move for his sake really.
  17. I reckon Nuno has a touch of the Ranieri here, he will keep them calm, I don’t think they’ll feel pressured.
  18. The optimists will be thinking chance of catching Forest, I’m still with the pessimists in that Villa dropping points is the better outcome…
  19. Feels like that’s Brighton and Bournemouth done with respect to the top 6. But might start to see a gap in the table open up. Probably doesn’t mean much as already clear Chelsea, Man City and Villa are the teams to watch
  20. Hayden and Lewis are only still on the books as they can’t be got rid of, despite all efforts
  21. Mbuemo would come in and immediately provide another source of goals and assists in the PL. He is well proven now, would be an incredibly low risk signing. That also means he will cost. But am sure Howe would love such a banker of a signing. Any younger player picked from a lesser league might have a higher ceiling but will have a much higher risk of flopping - so that is the trade off. They don’t all work out, no matter how good the scouting is. Murphy has maybe made it more possible to take a bigger risk at RW as he has shown he can be dependable for what his game is.
  22. Howe is still the manager whether Delap or someone we’ve never heard of is signed. It’s not a reason to sign any particular player over another.
  23. Yes, heard Wembley is the most profitable stadium in Europe to hold an event in for the hosts, that’s why UEFA love it so much; £££. That might change now the Bernabeu and Nou Camp are being revamped. Presumably that’s both due to its 90k capacity but also the volume of corporate built into it
  24. Has it gone to the Saudi overlords for approval and that’s the wait? Given the cost I guess it’s squeaky bum time for them, are they ready to drop serious cash, knowing even in the best case it won’t start to generate a return for 5 years. Plus a training ground too.
  25. Mid season it’s bad practise. I thought the whole point of having an agent was that instead of doing this you send them a text saying ‘get me outa here’ and the agent does all this for you in the background so you dont get a load of grief. If it’s summer and the club are rejecting offers then players do use their power a bit, but in March it’s daft.
