Dr Venkman
If they've waited this long they'll wait until Rafa signs the deal to sack him, and people have already reported that the deal was being agreed using intermediaries. Chill.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Sky, who earlier said he was due to be sacked, are now reporting he won't be sacked today. This is an utter shambles. EDIT: And now:
sempuki
Keith Downie 1m1 minute ago Keith Downie @SkySports_Keith Steve McClaren has left the Newcastle Training Ground for the day. We understand he's unlikely to lose his job today.

Nobody
Seriously, just sack him and let Cathro or whoever take training tomorrow. This is not on.
Groo
I really don't understand why they are doing this, if they want to replace him remove him now, not wait until the replacement says yes. If they have no faith in him, then he's gone anyway, what harm would it do for the backroom staff to manage the next game or two. At least its clean then when talking to his potential replacements. This situation does nothing but harm to Newcastle's reputation.
hoppaz
Whether or not this happens, this place is gonna be like... http://p.fod4.com/p/media/b06153cff7/Xxz1UboiTDOOriRXawZE_Michael%20Bay%20Cat.gif
B-more Mag
The way this club is run, it's a miracle that the team doesn't spend every game kicking the ball in our own net.

Wullie
I really don't understand why they are doing this I do. It's because they are: a) really nasty arseholes and b) completely incompetent.
nufcjb
SSN jumped the gun really. They said their sources said McClaren set to be sacked and will not be in charge against Leicester. Now it says 'unlikely' to be in charge. Update at 4. No idea what happened to that supposed meeting between McClaren and Charnley after training since McClaren has gone home. Maybe he was informed already but club to release statement today? His face when he left was liked a man who just lost his job though. A 11.00 pm statement from the club? ads
Titles need updating to reflect the cluster-fuck of uncertainty. Steve McClaren - still here...
Lush Vlad
I really don't understand why they are doing this, if they want to replace him remove him now, not wait until the replacement says yes. If they have no faith in him, then he's gone anyway, what harm would it do for the backroom staff to manage the next game or two. At least its clean then when talking to his potential replacements. This situation does nothing but harm to Newcastle's reputation. Was just about to post something similar. Absolutely no point in keeping him on. In the long run, it seems more harmful than finally settling for our 3rd, 4th, 10th choice replacement. He's not going to be focusing on his job. I mean, he hasn't done that for a while, anyway. The fans are going to grow more and more restless. Plus the players are going to be even more demotivated, if that is actually possible. They've finally come to the conclusion that he is shit and he has to go. So why is he still in charge? Are they honestly considering leaving him as coach, should we fail to get Benitez, Moyes, Rodgers etc..........
Dr Venkman
Why would they wait all this time and then sack him before Rafa's signed? It's stupid, but it's not unexpected or any reason to panic.
AyeDubbleYoo
Why would they wait all this time and then sack him before Rafa's signed? It's stupid, but it's not unexpected or any reason to panic. Yep, nothing's changed except things are taking a bit longer than we want. No surprise there.
Mick
Why would they wait all this time and then sack him before Rafa's signed? It's stupid, but it's not unexpected or any reason to panic. It's as if they can only do one thing at a time, they're incompetent morons.
Lush Vlad
So if Rafa doesn't sign, what then? We go to plan B? If they're going to get rid of McClaren, they might as well do it now. If they think, like the rest of us, that he isn't good enough. Then they should be putting a caretaker in charge and getting shot of him. There is literally no point in him carrying on.
