Telegraph saying that Ashley will leave the decision up to Charnley.

On the surface that's bad news. But Charnley is ultimately looking out for himself - if keeping McClaren backfires, he could lose his job. Surely he's shitting himself?

We won't win tomorrow. Bournemouth have got a canny team who are giving their all for the club whilst our bunch if spineless cowards have downed tools for the season. McClaren should have been sacked a long time ago, certainly straight after Wednesday night though, and someone like Benitez brought in to try to coax this lot into at least trying and picking up as many points as possible in the last few games. If McClaren sees the season out we won't even reach 30 points.

"Telegraph Sport understands Charnley still wants to give McClaren more time.

He has not made any contingency plans for McClaren’s departure at this stage, even though the likes of David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers and Rafael Benitez are out of work."

 We're absolutely fucked

Article sums up perfectly why we are in the mess we are. No plans in place in case we do sack him, and a crisis meeting if Bournemouth beat us? The crisis has been going on for months.

"As things stand, the board at St James’ Park appear to be paralysed by a fear that sacking McClaren would make things worse for a side that are second from bottom in the Premier League table."

How could things be worse?

Presumably the crisis meeting will be a meeting of the board. Of which McClaren is a member.

You should know by now that asking this question about anything at Newcastle under Ashley results in someone flicking off the lights, holding a torch under their chin and wailing "Leeeeds!  Pooorrrrtsmoooouth"
