SBR didn't always get it right but I never questioned that he wasn't the right man for the job, same with Keegan.

Unfortunately football has bypassed British players in terms of management over the last 15 years, look at the England setup, Rooney and so many others of the same intelligence level.. basically a whole generation of thick as pig shit assholes who just wouldn't have the faculties to succeed at management. And any of the British players that could have the potential to be good at this will never get the exposure because their playing careers are overshadowed by better foreign players, or thick cunts like Rooney et all.

If we go for a new manager he has to be foreign.. not Moyes. He wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

Genuinely don't think our squad is that good, tbh. There's a few decent players in there, surrounded by a large amount of s****.

Define "that good". Give our squad a league position. Is that number 20, 19 or 18?

Certainly no higher than 15/16.

We can just about put out an XI that's alright when everyone's fit, but as soon as someone's injured - which is inevitable with us - we're relying on crap.

Our squad has the ability but the mental strength of box of staples and serious attitude problems. I don't mean this in the sense a good coach could turn them around and they'd be good, they could maybe get to 14/15th in table with a good coach but no more. Recruitment is a joke.

We went into the season with the first choice partnerships in defence and midfield being Mbemba, Coloccini, Colback and Anita, backed up by Taylor, Williamson, Tiote and Gouffran.

Fucking Norwich have better options than those last 7 and the best player out of that lot is a 21 year old kid brand new to the league.

Newcastle United players have offered their support to Steve McClaren

Newcastle United players insist they are fully behind head coach Steve McClaren.

The players have taken the unusual step of issuing a statement to confirm their support for the Newcastle manager after reports claimed senior players had become disillusioned with him and were surprised he was still in charge after their poor run of form.

The 1-0 defeat at Stoke City in midweek - a seventh consecutive away loss - left Newcastle in the Premier League's bottom three with suggestions that the players expected McClaren to be sacked if they lost to Bournemouth on Saturday, but they have insisted the former England boss has their full respect.

Newcastle's Jonjo Shelvey believes his side showed the fans they are up for the fight of staying in the Premier League

The statement read: "Newcastle United players would like to make clear that reports in some areas of the media suggesting we are surprised that our head coach has not been dismissed are untrue.

"As a group we aware of the situation we are in and it is our responsibility to change that.

"The coach and his staff prepare us well for each game, but once on the pitch it is not they who can stop the goals we concede or the chances we don't take, that responsibility is ours the players.

"On the occasions we have given poor performances this season the coach has in the privacy of the dressing room rightly demonstrated his disappointment in us.

"In his press conferences, though, we have seen that he defends his group, continues to show faith in us and shares the responsibility with us. For this he has the full respect of the players.

"The players are also aware from articles in yesterday's newspapers that a person or persons connected with the club are giving information to the press of a negative nature.

"As players we are very disappointed by this. It's a betrayal of trust for the coach, us and the club.

"As a group we know we have it within us to keep this club in the Premier League.

"We now must fight every game at a time to earn our place in the Premier League for next season."
