ponsaelius
No defence which includes Glen Johnson is superb. The individual doesn't matter. It's a superb defence which fortunately isn't emulated by the midfield and attack. Of course it does. Johnson still gets caught out defensively all the time. That game where he unbelievable got motm for scoring the winning goal he was absolutely all over the place all game. edit: Chelsea
Ronaldo
The unit functions well. I couldn't care less if we had 4 Andy O'Briens at the back if it meant we rarely conceded.
ponsaelius
Unit functions well in spite of him not because he's part of it IMO.
gazza ladra
Unit functions well in spite of him not because he's part of it IMO. We can improve on Danny Simpson. For example.

ponsaelius
It's still a superb defence. Agger has the galvanising Coloccini effect to it. They better hope his injury problems don't crop up again.
Guest Heneage
I wish we had Agger, I think fans would love him. Liverpool are still miles (and millions) from the title.
Ameritoon
This is really his first healthy season in a while, it's blatantly apparent how much better he makes that defense.
Stottie
Liverpool's problem is goals. Since last January, even their top man Suarez has scored one less than Leon Best. Kuyt and Maxi got a quite a few in the second half of last season, so maybe that papered over some cracks that ended up not being addressed in the summer. Disco
No defence which includes Glen Johnson is superb. The individual doesn't matter. It's a superb defence which fortunately isn't emulated by the midfield and attack. Stick Lucas infront of it and it's the best defensive unit in the league IMO. Johnson goes missing a bit but which RB doesn't? Probably only Sagna. Probably no surprise that this is one area that has been least touched by Dourglish. LFEE
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17433293 The funny thing is bigger leads have been blown more recently by supposedly bigger clubs but never highlighted... Must be true when they say no one ever remembers the runners-up... They did however that year and still do to this day... Great days...
Sima
Man Utd blew a similar lead 2 years later. Never mentioned.
mrmojorisin75
aye, most people are focusing on the fact they won titles before and after it really, had we won the league the next year no-one would ever talk of the 12 points but we didn't did we? Guest neesy111
Man Utd blew a similar lead 2 years later. Never mentioned. It was probably worse as ours had declined from January, in 97/98 they blew 9 point lead from start of march.

Benwell Lad
Bloody Schmeichel, man. I know. If we had won that game, we would had won the title. The eerie silence coming out of that match still kind of haunts me. I've never experienced it since and the contrast to the mood as people made their way to SJP was tangible.
