Unbelievable
I will be really annoyed if he joins Everton for 3 million and tears up the league...
Guest Walter
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is unlikely to bring in a striker before the transfer deadline with Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore not far away from full fitness. Lukaku went over on his ankle during the first half of Tuesday's disaster at Anfield after colliding with Gareth Barry and had to be stretchered off. There were initial fears he had suffered ligament damage, possibly ruling him out for several months. That sparked rumours Martinez could make a late bid for a striker, with Marseille's Saber Khalifa and Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis named as potential targets Khalifa, a Turkey international, is reportedly available for loan while Gomis may be allowed to leave Lyon for a cut-price £3million as he only has six months remaining on his contract. However, Everton were boosted yesterday by the news that Lukaku's injury was not as bad as first feared and could be back playing within a month. Kanj
I will be really annoyed if he joins Everton for 3 million and tears up the league... Annoyed would be putting it lightly, pretty sure we'd all be fucking going mad.
AyeDubbleYoo
Is it too obvious to say we signed De Jong instead? I thought moving on to other targets was a good thing? I know he's a loan like.
Decky
Can we not sign both, seeing as Remy is already a loan and Cisse/Ameobi are both useless?
geordie_b
We will announce that we have signed him on a pre contract tomorrow.
Disco
Almost like this was the plan all along... @F8Piraux 3m Marseille are now favorite to sign #OL striker Bafétimbi Gomis next summer after he has confirmed he is in discussions to join #OM for free. ...meh

Guest bimpy474
Dunno why we're blaming Gomis, pretty apparent we didn't really try for him last summer. Especially after everything that's gone on this window. If i had to choose who to believe between his agents or this club right now, i'd choose his agents. Ste
He was a good shout for the summer as he was on a free. If we assume Remy is gone in the summer and we lose Cisse this month, we're left with de Jong (if he still fancies it). Easiest option for the hierarchy is to keep Shola on so we don't lose too many bodies and have to spend loads on replacements. Urgh.
LoveItIfWeBeatU
Scored another goal today. It was a penalty. Some club is going to get a relative bargain in the Summer.
SteveMc
Scored another goal today. It was a penalty. Some club is going to get a relative bargain in the Summer. Yeah - like wit Amalfatano we'll sign his shit brother
Ronaldo
Remember when Amalfitano signed and he was described as an 'upgrade' on Guthrie. That turned out well.

Guest
Same, I remember Anita and even Bigirimana in terms of potential being mentioned like that but not Amalfitano. Might be wrong though.
BrettNUFC
I just thought the likes of Abeid, Almaliftano, Haidara etc were signed and then nothing expected of them. Pop them in the reserves and see how they get on, if they are good enough, they'll step into first team. Don't think they were talked up to be replacing anybody.
