La Liga does that on some circumstances, where you lose a player for the entire season for reasons beyond your control ("out for the season" injuries being the most common one). You have to sign a player that plays in the same position of the one you lost. In this case, they lost one of their midfielders on the night of deadline day to Zaragoza given a buyback clause, and La Liga gave them 30 days to sign a replacement since they couldn't have planned for it (and they are disputing the way Zaragoza triggered that clause). Now, the rag reporting it says that we are still in for him for the winter market, given our lack of replacements upfront, but that's less substantiated. PSV has had as good players as Ajax and has got Hiddink and Koeman managing them, while Ajax has been a bit of a hot seat with lots of overphyped managers (Van Basten, Blind) or simply not good enough (Ten Cate was a great Ass Man but not manager material in my opinion). Tottenham winger Giovani dos Santos will not be able to join Deportivo La Coruna until January due to loan restrictions, according to the Spanish club. La Liga outfit Deportivo have confirmed their interest in the Mexico ace and the player is believed to be keen to leave White Hart Lanein search of regular football. But Deportivo claim Giovani, who was taken off injured after a rare start for Spurs in Wednesday's Carling Cup win at Preston, will not be allowed to move until 2010. Deportivo sporting director Ricardo Moar has stated that the Spanish Football Federation has ruled that only players based in Spain can become loan arrivals. Moar said: "It is impossible to bring Giovani to Galicia. "We like him very much but the Spanish Football Federation has clarified we cannot bring a foreign player in.
