Good interview I thought, enjoyed it. Interesting to hear some insight into the dressing room around the time of our first relegation & promotion campaign.

This. He mentioned a lot of names - Llambias, Wise, Ashley, Pardew, Charnley. I wish we got more of his thoughts on them.

Don't think the lad possesses the mental acumen to turn it around.

Aye, seemingly not, although I never like to write anyone off. But during the interview he displayed that throughout his career the same negative patterns repeated again & again (not showing up to training, apathy, crime) no matter what club he was at or situation he was in. Hasn't got long to turn it around either at 27.

Seems incredibly thick. Don't see a positive outcome for him in life. If he can't be arsed to get to training in time, how can he possibly get up in time for a normal  job where he might have to get up at say 5 in the morning to go to a factory/office/building site.

You can tell he still just doesn't get it like. There's a bit where he's talking about players taking the piss in the relegation season, but he's on about players going for nights out in Leeds because going to Tup Tup would be taking the piss and shitting on your own doorstep. It doesn't seem to even enter his head that it's the going out bit that's taking the piss. It's a running theme as well, he goes on like getting caught is the reason he's got into trouble rather than the things that he's done.

He was from Wood Green, or at least lived there. He's a piece of shit and so are his friends. Mostly drug dealers/ex prisoners. This guy got a £400-500k pay off from the club also...

Heard he used to hang out in the streets while he was a signed footballer earning 6 figure sum. He's an idiot.

Yeah a video was released somewhere,  they had a house party during the day about 6 or 7 of them, playing loud music and pissing off his neighbours, it was alleged they had all taken extacy and decided to go out into the street and start dancing in the middle of the road in broad daylight, him as premier league footballer.

His brain is in his asswhole

watched/listened to that and thought it was decent

some things i picked up..

regardless of his upbringing he clearly has a drinking/alcohol dependancy issue

gambling, admitted he had a massive gambling problem and the club banned him from all the casinos in town

clearly a huge gambling culture at the club with Michael Owen there - said Owen and Nicky Butt would bet £500 on whose bag came onto the luggage carousel first on away trips etc

Dyer also mentioned that Michael Owen was always the bookie during England trips as well

For those slagging him and lets make this clear he only has himself to blame for most of the things he has done - i bet anyone on here would have done the whole going out in town and pulling as many birds as possible if they had the money and fame that he did at 20/21. I know for a fact i would have and would have loved it

 Ermm yeah... but there's a way to do that - the Nile Ranger way is not it!

He was a shit footballer. League 2 or below is his level.

So to be honest, I’m not sure if you can throw the whole line of a waste of talent. Not sure it was there to begin with.

He clung about long enough here to earn enough money to act like a total cunt at every opportunity. It was inevitable that he’d squander it.

If he had any intelligence he would have realised his fortune and made hay for however long the sun would shine on him.

I heard that Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley (I think) did that too and Jordan was so keen on winning he gave the bagage worker a huge tip to put his bag on the conveyor belt first

That’s k he’s more of a ufc/ boxing fan. With that being said, his podcasts with dyer and shearer were much better. Looked extremely difficult trying to get anything truly interesting from Ranger, such is his ineptitude at articulating his thoughts.

Seems hard to buy out of the bullshit roadman narratives these daft lads build in their heads.

Easy to say if you don't grow up in that area.

Eh? That’s my point isn’t it? It’s hard to shake that poisonous philosophy.

He had a lot of talent. He could have been a premier league Striker all of his career probably for a middle to lower level side like us. I remember when he came of the bench against Liverpool in one game and stretched them so much. He is a moron who could have achieved a lot. He was a lot better than league 2 but he ruined that. I don't care if he lives up to his potential or not as he is a tosser and his development was ruined by himself.
