He was from Wood Green, or at least lived there. He's a piece of shit and so are his friends. Mostly drug dealers/ex prisoners. This guy got a £400-500k pay off from the club also...

I had the misfortune of seeing him and his bellends mates several times out in town when he was here and they were all utter cocks! Strutting around with those sucking on those Chupa Chups lollies bumping into people on purpose!

I lasted 9 minutes, fuck the rest of it. All he's done so far is try and give excuses and pass the blame onto others for what he's done. He's a prick. Also - refusing to go on trial with clubs? Is he really that stupid? He reckons after everything he's done that a club is just going to offer him a contract?

Seems hard to buy out of the bullshit roadman narratives these daft lads build in their heads.

Easy to say if you don't grow up in that area.

90% of people from the area, given his opportunities, would turn out decent lads. Raheem Sterling for one grew up not too far away.

I'd be in complete agreement if in this case he hadn't been given endless opportunities and special treatment to leave that all behind like. He's had the sympathy and special treatment that you can argue his upbringing deserves, and at the other end, he's also experienced the consequences of his actions. I don't buy at all that he's a victim of his own society in the way that others are, like, he's just an absolute knacker.

No way to know that, everyone is different. Look at Troy Deeney, from a similar background went to prison, Ravel Morrison, Barton. There's plenty of examples of it going the other way.

People make easy assumptions about people because they've grown up in relative comfort.

Deeney's turned it around too. Andre Gray too.

Your Barton's, Ranger's, Ravel's are from very tough upbringings but they have to take blame on themselves as they've been given opportunity after opportunity and they still mess it up.

There's loads of footballers from the same neighbourhoods that aren't any bother at all. Granted that's only part of the problem but still. It's important to say a lot of footballers have grown up in tough environments, friends with gangsters and murderers growing up that are absolutely no bother.

Lads like Nile and Barton I believe have some mental/psychological issues or traumas stemming from their upbringing which they will struggle to fully escape from for life.

Btw did Nile explain why his nose is broken and why he has a black eye? Stopped watching after a while.

It’s easier when you are a complete bell end and a waste of breath like this prick is. 9 out of 10 people in his situation would not waste so many opportunities regardless of the ‘hood life’ or how thick they were. It’s got nowt to do with his background, but his warped view on how he values himself as some kind ‘gangster’ which is cartoon life.

Heard he used to hang out in the streets while he was a signed footballer earning 6 figure sum. He's an idiot.

He loved the car park in Forest Hall like. You wouldn't have known it was him if it wasn't for his massive RANGER Rover and with custom numberplate and all that shit.

Don't use the upbringing shit was an excuse. There comes a time in your life that you can't keep using that as a reason for your life being shit. You are responsible for your adult decisions no one else

This fella is a waster and it's his fault no fucker else's. End of

Good interview I thought, enjoyed it. Interesting to hear some insight into the dressing room around the time of our first relegation & promotion campaign.

This. He mentioned a lot of names - Llambias, Wise, Ashley, Pardew, Charnley. I wish we got more of his thoughts on them.

Don't think the lad possesses the mental acumen to turn it around.

Aye, seemingly not, although I never like to write anyone off. But during the interview he displayed that throughout his career the same negative patterns repeated again & again (not showing up to training, apathy, crime) no matter what club he was at or situation he was in. Hasn't got long to turn it around either at 27.

Seems incredibly thick. Don't see a positive outcome for him in life. If he can't be arsed to get to training in time, how can he possibly get up in time for a normal  job where he might have to get up at say 5 in the morning to go to a factory/office/building site.

You can tell he still just doesn't get it like. There's a bit where he's talking about players taking the piss in the relegation season, but he's on about players going for nights out in Leeds because going to Tup Tup would be taking the piss and shitting on your own doorstep. It doesn't seem to even enter his head that it's the going out bit that's taking the piss. It's a running theme as well, he goes on like getting caught is the reason he's got into trouble rather than the things that he's done.
