We'll still be trying to get rid of this fucker when he's dead, I can see it now "Shola's coffin too big for swanky St James' doors - Bobby Robson said to be livid"

you and your obsession with death

I remember you suggesting that we'd be wheeling Shearer out onto the pitch after his demise

I like the images they use in the reports, for most players it's them celebrating or scoring a goal, but for shola...

this news has put me off me tea!

What are they going to do, wait for it to heal before they sign him? Could be a long wait guys.

looks like deals off according to Teamtalk:

Tractor Boys shelve Ameobi deal

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton has confirmed the proposed transfer of Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi has been shelved due to injury.

The two clubs agreed a fee for the 26-year-old and he spent Monday undergoing a medical at Portman Road.

However, after the detection of a hamstring injury that is unlikely to clear up before the end of the transfer window, Magilton has decided to call off the transfer for the time being.

Magilton told the club's official website: "It's disappointing but you have to be careful with hamstring injuries.

"We don't want a repeat of last season when Shefki Kuqi joined us and suffered a hamstring injury in his first game."

with Smith not going and Shola not going to get a transfer fee, I’m worried about our need to bolster our squad with new recruits. Surely we’re not depending on those 2 deals to finance the new recruits?
