AyeDubbleYoo
Another day of my club being all over sky sports news for all the wrong reasons. To be honest, fuck them.
Gash
at the end of the day Ashley was making sound decisions that Keegan apparently disagreed with: Sell Smith - he's been shite. Get rid Sell Barton - He's a liability. Get rid Sell Milner - Overated at 12mil. Bite Villa's hand off Sell Owen - Jury out on this one. Well all know that he's holding the club to ransom for megawages or will ferk off once his contracts up. Take the money, or get rid. Hard to call. I would take Ashleys / Board side on all those points. And had decent replacements been lined up I'm sure we'd have all been happy with the transfers. I can see the logic behind what he was doing it was the execution that they ferked up. Hopefully todays discussions will right the wrongs and we can build on from there. Like back in '92 But at the end of the day, theres a reason why Keegan is manager and not Ashley, which is to make these footballing decisions! ToonMonty
Someone is in over their head and it ain't Keegan. I don't think Ashley had anything to do with this but I'll bet he's the one who is trying to set it right. This is what I believe too. It reminds me somewhat of the Gullit/Shearer head to head which damaged the club. (I still believe Gullitt would have got it right - just as I believe Dalglish would have) because he's gotten it right since? Gullit fantastic player but a poor manager and someone who could start an argument in an empty house

Agreed, although i think Ashley hasn't been taking any of these decisions, its that Lambas.

Agreed, just a pity the International games are on this weekend. It's a good thing we have the weekend off TBH otherwise they would have had less time to talk over their problems and some rush decisions might have been made so the team could be prepared properly for Saturday. STM
One thing i will say is fair play to the club for actually "listening" to what KK has to say, which is clearly something they are doing. I hope a resolution can be found.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
From the way I've seen it since late last night, I think MA should have a quiet word in Mr. Llambias' ear. Obviously I don't know the ins and outs, but this guy has been appointed as MD and to oversee the comings and goings at the club. If he's not capable of getting who KK wants, then he isn't doing his job. If someone isn't doing their job, they usually get the sack. It appears that MA and Keegan see eye-to-eye most of the time, and I think it that the best way to resolve this is for MA to tell Llambias where to go and take a tighter grip on running the club himself. He's had his fun sitting in the stands, but if he wants the club to move forward, he should do his own work and not let some knacker and ex-casino manager who also has little knowledge of helping to run a football club do it. I think the fan reaction definitely had a big part to play in deciding that

Hardly shite journalism, they never 100% confirmed the news.

Ember
I think the "Keegan told his friends tha he was sacked" thing is something that Sky have come up with to save face. Perhaps KK said this knowing that they would leak to the press and thus cause a Fans Revolt
AyeDubbleYoo
It appears that MA and Keegan see eye-to-eye most of the time I got this impression as well, don't know where the idea that they're at eachother's throats all the time comes from. Guest shaun11177
I think everyone disagrees with Keegan on Smith but it really comes down to a Manager must make these decisions for me, if he gets them wrong and results are the judge and jury of that then the board can get rid. Guest Toon Argy
Keegan is our manager. He should be the only one who decides who we bring in, who stays and who goes.

Unfortunately for Ashley the events of the past day or so may have demonstrated that he's got a manager that's effectively unsackable. It will be interesting to see how this pans out over the near future.
AyeDubbleYoo
Keegan is our manager. He should be the only one who decides who we bring in, who stays and who goes. I see why you say that but virtually no football clubs are run like that now.
