No way should we look to offer him a new contract. We need Krul back ASAP as our reserve keepers are probably the worst in the division by a long way. Blyth have a centre-forward who has played in goal on several occasions over the years when the keeper has gone off injured or been sent off, and he's better than Alnwick. This. Absolutely dreadful. Gave him the benefit of the doubt after the first couple of games but he really is shit. Would play Woodman despite his age; can't be any worse surely? If the other team gets four shots on target, you want your keeper to be saving three of them on average. That's about the rate for most keepers in the league, give or take a few percent depending on how high class they are. Alnwick is down at 25% and we won't win many games when we need to score three or four goals every time. We got away with it against Everton because their shooting was woeful and they only scored two. Today we didn't and it directly cost us two points.
