oldtype
He had a decent game today IMO, alot better than the useless donkey who was upfront with him. I'd have liked to have seen Carroll stay on and taken Shola off although it just depends on whether the injury was ran off or is going to cause problems for the next match. Oba and Carroll upfront for West Brom? Hopefully. Oba and Shola up front just takes frustrating to a whole new level.
Cajun
Think there is more chance of Carroll and Loveknrands than Martins, however its even more likely to be Ameobi and Lovenkrands. It will be Carroll and Ameobi.
Karjala
Carroll played well today, way better than Shola.

Guest Stephen927
Couldn't have asked much more of him. Done better than I expected. A good threat in the air and from what I've seen looks like he knows where the goal is.
Neil
Can't really criticse the lad. It's obvious he's a limited player and normally wouldn't be in the first team but he was asked to do a job, won a fair few balls in the air and put in a good shift, so you can't really ask too much more. Incognito
I thought Shola did ok tbh.
Newcastle Fan
He was good today, seems to be improving more every game, looks a much better player than Shola already..hopes he gets more chances.
Wullie
Thought that header in the first half was in all the way.
junkhead
He's proved that he can be relied upon and you can't say that for many in our squad. I just wish some of you moralist sheep would consider the idea that being a wanker off the field is irrelevant if you produce the goods on the pitch.. James
If the worst happens, I'll be pleased to know we've got him around next season. I'd say he is the quality you'd expect for a yo-yo player.
ElDiablo
Better than Shola.
Guest toonlass
Needs a quality partner up front and we could see good things of him. I hold my hands up, I didn't think he had it in him earlier this season, but he has stepped up to the mark and shown he has bottle in him.
Guest Stephen927
Quite obviously can't score when he doesnt have his braids in. BRING BACK THE BRAIDS.

Guest Gazmatron
Dont see why people are getting excited about Caroll. He seems average at best, all his headers seem very tame and he cant actually run. He is not bad for cover at the moment but i would not like to see him anywhere near the first team when everyone is fit.
Guest Phil K
I'm still trying to work out why Carroll was taken off while Shola stayed on the pitch. Maybe cos Shola actually got into positions (to miss, granted - but first game back ffs) that Andy seems to find impossible ?
Guest Stephen927
Games with braids: 1 Goals scored with braids: 1 Games without braids: 14 Goals scored without braids: 1 Paying a hairdresser to put his braids back in could be the best money we'll spend this January.
